“Let me cook for you tonight. If it’s terrible, then you can eat me.” He grips my ponytail, giving a tug to pull my head back, and my body heats even more. This is this dark dominance that lurks inside of Shy, and it only comes out to play with me.

“I’m going to eat you either way,” he says before he claims my mouth in a kiss that leaves me breathless. “Cook me dinner, kitten. It’s your kitchen now since you live here.”

“I live here?” I moan my question as he starts grinding his cock into me.

“You live here. With me. Cook in this kitchen and make it yours. Make this whole place ours. I want your touch everywhere.”

“You want us to make a home together?”

“Yes. For the first time, I want a home to call my own.”

“Me too,” I admit, kissing him again.

“Fuck, I want to be inside of you,” he groans, pulling back from the kiss. “Let me get this shit done so I can come back to you.”

“Whose place is acting up?” I ask, trying to keep the pout out of my voice because I know he has to work. Shy works for everything he has, and I respect that so damn much.

“Jamie’s.” He reaches down as he steps back and adjusts his cock in his jeans.

“She has a thing for you,” I huff.

A few weeks ago, it would have driven me crazy to know he was going over to her place. Now I don’t give a crap. If he wanted her, he would have been with her. He clearly doesn't because he’s with me and has only ever been with me.

“I know.” He shrugs. “She can keep having it. That’s never going to happen.”

“Still not sending you out of here like that.” I point to the outline of his erection in his jeans as I slip off the counter and drop to my knees in front of him.

“Kitten,” he groans when I go for his button. He braces his hands on the counter when I take him into my mouth.

I give my man what he tells me he needs most in this world.

Me.

Chapter Eight

Shy

I’m so busy thinking about the blow job Carrie just gave me I almost run into the guy in the hallway.

“Sorry,” I apologize, but as soon as I turn around, I hear my name called.

“Shy! What’s taking so long?” Jamie is so close to me I have to take a step back.

“Whoa.” She ignores my surprise and my attempts to put distance between us as she moves closer.

“I think my bathroom is flooding.” The panic in her eyes is real as she grabs me by the arm.

“Fuck,” I mumble under my breath, moving my arm out of her grip, but I hurry after her. If her bathroom floods, it will probably go to the apartment below her and cause double the damage. “Didn’t you turn the water off?”

“I don’t know how.” We rush into her apartment, and she quickly points to the bathroom. “In there!”

Hearing the sound of water running get louder, I push open the door, but stop when all I see is her bathtub filling with water. “What the hell?”

Turning around, I watch her face fall as she closes the bathroom door behind her and leans against it. The sound of the lock engaging is loud even over the water, and I narrow my eyes.

“What’s going on, Jamie?”

“Nothing.” She shrugs one shoulder and looks up at me through her lashes.

“I’m not playing games with you. Move out of the way and let me out of here.”

Silently she shakes her head and raises her chin in challenge.

“If you don’t move out of the way, I’ll do it for you.”

“Come on, Shy, don’t be like that.” She drags a hand down the front of her chest, and I look away.

“It’s not happening, Jamie. Not now, not ever. I’ve told you, I’m not interested.” My fists clench at my sides, and anger flashes through me. “I don’t want to hurt you, but I’m going through that door.” If this was flipped and Carrie was alone with another man like this, I’d lose my mind. I’m getting the fuck out of here. Now.

“You’re no fun.” She pretends to pout, and it’s not cute like the way Carrie does it. Jamie looks bitchy and sad.

“I don’t give a fuck.” I go to take a step closer, and her smile spreads. It gives me a sinking feeling in my stomach, and I look past her, beyond the door, and my mind begins to work. “Are you the one harassing Carrie?”

“Not exactly.” She looks away this time, not meeting my eyes.

“Jamie.” My voice is ice cold and this time when I take a step forward, I see real fear cross her face.

“Look, it wasn’t my idea, okay?” she snaps.
