“This is incredible.” They moved together close to the circle, just watching. Vince’s heart was beating faster than it should, an energetic rise in his pulse.

People of every age and race were around them, moving to this tune they all created together or for each other.

“Yeah, I like it too.”

They found a place in the grass, just enjoying the view and the music.

“Where else are we going to go?” Vince asked.

“What do you mean? Tonight?”

“No. You told me where you want to go abroad. Where have you always wanted to visit in the United States?”

“New Orleans,” Colby answered automatically. “Seems like a cool place to go.”

“We definitely need to go there sometime. I haven’t been.”

They sat there a while together, talking about all the places they had been and the places they would go together. They also talked more about brewing beer, and how they wanted to try and make another batch when they got home.

“What about you? We’re always talking about me, what I want to do or where I want to go. I want your secrets too,” Colby said, his gaze holding Vince’s.

“I shared some of my secrets with you last night. The Gregory stuff and about my family.”

“I know.” Colby picked a blade of grass off Vince’s jeans. “Tell me something good, though…or something you want to experience, so we can do it together.”

Vince was struck speechless for a moment. He couldn’t figure out what to say. If he wanted to do something, he just did it. If he felt something, he did it. Even now, with Colby, that’s what he was doing. As he sat there with his friend, Vince couldn’t think of anything else he wanted more, anything else he needed. At least not right then.

“Dance with me,” Vince said instead of answering.

“Huh?”

“You heard me. Dance with me.”

“Out here?”

There were other people in the park doing exactly that. “You danced with me at the bar.”

“Yeah, but that’s different.”

It hit him then that maybe Colby didn’t feel comfortable in a place like this because it wasn’t as safe as a gay bar. He felt silly for not having thought of it. He was out and had been for most of his life. This was all new for Colby.

Yet on the way here, he’d grabbed Vince’s hand.

“You know what? Yes. Let’s dance.” Colby shoved to his feet and held his hand out for Vince.

“You don’t ever have to do something you’re not comfortable doing. Not with me. I didn’t mean to push.”

Colby’s forehead wrinkled. “You didn’t… Oh, you thought I didn’t want to dance with you because you’re a man? Shit, that didn’t even occur to me.”

Vince chuckled. Of course it didn’t. Colby was too damn sweet, too accepting to even consider that others around him might not be, or that it was okay to be nervous being with a man in public.

“Seriously, Vince. I was just thinking it’s embarrassing to dance in this situation. It feels different from a bar, but now I realize I don’t give a fuck what anyone thinks. I want to have fun with my friend even if I make a fool of myself.”

Jesus, this man was so fucking great, and he didn’t even realize it. Vince would make sure he did, though.

Vince took the offered hand and let Colby pull him to his feet. They didn’t dance the same way they did at the bar. They weren’t all hands and grinding against each other, but they did move together to the rapid dum, dum, dum of the drums. Sometimes they were dramatic about it, playful in ways that probably looked ridiculous, but Vince didn’t care what anyone thought about him, and he was glad to see that in this moment Colby didn’t either.

They were at it for a while, just enjoying hanging out together the way they always did. It was so strange. Vince never thought he would have anything in common with Colby, but for whatever reason, they just worked.

Eventually, while running his hands up and down Colby’s back, Vince said, “You ready to go back to the hotel? I have something I want to show you.”

As if hearing the innuendo in Vince’s voice, Colby replied, “You do, huh? I think I might feel it.”

Vince chuckled. “That too, but I was thinking more along the lines of introducing you to my mouth…if that’s something you’d be interested in. If not, no worries. We can just watch a movie or something.”

“Oh, look at the time. It’s getting late. We should head back…for the first thing you mentioned.” Colby took Vince’s hand and pulled Vince with him.

Vince gave another snicker. “Someone is excited.”

“You offered to…” He looked around, then lowered his voice as he said, “Blow me. Of course I’m excited.” Colby stopped walking. “Wait. That’s what we’re talking about, right?”

This time Vince practically choked on his own laughter. Christ, how was everything with this man so much damn fun? “Yes, that’s what I’m talking about. What else did you think I meant?”
