“I used to worry about him all the time, when he’d show up. What kind of hell he would swing back into my life and I realized it wasn’t going to stop. He finds me. It’s his other super power. So short of living on base, it’s something I’ve learned to deal with.”
The front door opened, and she tensed only to relax again when Davin didn’t move. His gaze remained riveted on her and his hand still lingered upon her thigh, fingers making those idyllic abstract patterns.
“Everyone decent in here?” Tavin’s voice called out. “I’m coming in.”
“We’re in the living room on the couch.” Davin kissed her lightly and gave her a small smile. “Keep going.”
“I’ve spent enough of my life trying to make up for what I didn’t have with my parents. The shame I had at who and what they’d become. I’m tired. I can’t do it anymore.” She clenched her jaw. “I won’t.”
Seconds before the surprisingly light footfalls of one Tavin Bly reached her, Davin tugged a blanket over her lower half, covering up the bare skin.
“You in my shirt is fine, but he doesn’t need to be staring at your legs.” Another kiss.
“Good evening you love birds,” Tavin said, positioning himself so she could see him. “You are beautiful as ever, Neha.” A scowl. “Davin.”
“Don’t hate, bro.”
Tavin looked back at her and winked, she smiled back. He was so fucking hot too, it hurt but there was nothing more than male appreciation when she looked at him. Unlike Davin who made her turn horny on levels she’d not know she could.
“What are you two doing cuddling here on the couch?”
Davin readjusted so he lay on his back and she was on his chest, her legs between his, the blanket over them both. Her pussy rested directly over his hardness. He let go of her long enough to adjust a pillow beneath his head.
“Talking about her family.”
He draped his strong arm back around her, beneath the blanket and held her tight. Neha turned her head and watched Tavin lower himself to one of the leather chairs, a beer in hand.
“And?”
She didn’t follow so she waited for Davin to continue. Neha dozed lightly as Davin filled in his twin on what she’d told him. Part of her thought she would have been offended he had done so, but she wasn’t. Quite the opposite. Both of these men had come to mean a great deal to her and she respected them.
“Do you have ideas on where your brother would be hanging out?”
Tavin’s question wrested her eyes back open and she found him lasered in on her with blue eyes so much like Davin’s.
“No. But we don’t exactly run in the same circles.”
With a sneer, Tavin lifted a shoulder. “I know you don’t. He’s not fucking fit to spit shine your shoes. But if you have any ideas on where or what types of drugs he goes for, I’ll put some feelers out and see if we can’t round his ass up. I also need a description of him. I’m guessing you don’t have a recent photo of him around.”
Again, there was no accusation in this one’s tone either.
It was almost surreal. For so long it had been her with only Renny, Sugar, and Cindy. To know there were more in her corner was a heady feeling.
“Later Tavin.” Davin had no room for argument in his tone.
“Fine, I’m not going anywhere again tonight.” He put his hands on the chair’s arms. “However, I do have a friend, Cole Rassmussen, who works magic in finding people. He’s actually leaving SRT and going to work for Tungsten Protective but I can ask him to do a search on your brother.”
“Are we in your way, Tavin?”
He sat back and lifted an eyebrow. “In my way? I mean if you want to dump the young sot there and come over here, I wouldn’t object, but no, baby, you’re not in my way. Why would you ask that?”
She bit her lip to keep the smile and bark of laughter contained. “I don’t know if you typically watch television here at night. I would feel bad if we interrupted your night.”
“No we wouldn’t,” Davin spit out. “Go away.”
“Be nice,” she muttered, lifting her head enough to brush her lips along his jaw as she patted his chest.
“Don’t want to,” he pouted. “I wanted to spend time with you.”
She watched Tavin’s expression as he observed them and couldn’t ignore the pain that flashed there.
“You’ve had me all evening.” She pushed up from his warmth, took a few moments to appreciate the male specimen she’d been lying upon and tucked some of her curls behind her ear. Glancing over to Tavin who continued to observe them she gestured with her hand. “Watch whatever you were going to see.”
Tavin smiled at her and she couldn’t help but imagine the two of them in school together. Fucking trouble with a capital T for sure.
