“I ought to fuck you just to teach you a lesson.”

He carries me back to another corner of the warehouse, and when I see the yellow stains on the mattress, the urge to vomit is strong. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out what he wants to do to me.

I look away, but Nogales tosses me down right on top of the piss-stained mattress smelling like sweat, vomit, and probably semen.

“See this space right here, bitch? This is your new home.” His grip tightens on my hair. Feeling brave, I kick and scream and my foot hits him right between the legs with as much force as I can muster, which isn’t much.

“Asshole!” The word comes out on a roar. I don’t know where it comes from, but it’s gratifying to see Nogales off his game, even if it’s just for a second.

“You’re gonna pay for that,” he cries out, grabbing his crotch with one hand and slamming me down on the mattress with the other. Instead of barreling forward with violence or rape on his mind, Nogales pulls out a black-barreled gun and presses it against my temple. “Apologize.”

I shake my head but say nothing. I’m not sorry I tried to escape, and I’m even less sorry I kicked him in the nuts.

“Say it, bitch.”

“Sorry,” I whisper half-heartedly.

“Not good enough.” He presses the barrel harder until I’m leaning to the side.

“Apologize until I believe you mean it.”

“I’m sorry,” I tell him after a long minute passes. “I’m sorry your boss keeps your balls in his man purse.”

He laughs and arches a brow at me. “You want to see my balls, chica? That curious about what’s in my pants? All you had to do is ask.”

One hand goes to his zipper, and I cringe on the inside, unwilling to take more sexual torture.

“This what you want,” he asks and strokes his cock.

I shake my head, and Nogales laughs.

“Too bad. On your knees, bitch. Get on your knees and show me how sorry you are.” He motions for me to come forward with the shiny gun.

I move, happy to get the hell off the disgusting mattress, and crawl toward Nogales, knowing I have to swallow down my fear and do what needs to be done.

“Good girl.” He pats my head, and I just focus on what comes next.

“Make me come, and swallow it like a good little slut, and I’ll know you’re sorry,” he shrugs with another sneer. “If I feel you’re really fucking sorry, I promise to give you a quick death.”

Some fucking promise. Do this, Kelsey. Sniffling back tears, I take his cock in my hand and stroke it firmly, rubbing my thumb over the already dripping tip.

“Mouth, bitch.”

That makes this easier. I open my mouth wide and take him just deep enough so he relaxes. I suck his cock like he wants, but when his legs start to tremble and bend, I clamp my teeth down, hard. Not just hard for a cock, but a dog with a bone, hard. I grind my teeth until his cries of pain echo in the warehouse.

“Fucking bitch,” he yells, the sound dark and menacing. Nogales is panicking, struggling to push me away as I bite down as hard as I can.

The barrel of the gun smashes down on top of my head, sending me falling backward onto the mattress for a moment, before everything around me goes black.

Chapter Twenty-Eight

Coop

“You got your head on straight, man?”

Shades pushed his gold aviator sunglasses up on his head, staring expectantly at me with his clear green eyes, waiting for me to tell him I’m all right. That I can handle whatever I might see inside the pale brick warehouse building on the edge of Angel Harbor.

“Do ya?”

Hell no, I think, but I say, “Yeah, I’m good Shades. I’m fine.”

I’m not fine yet, but I will be when I get inside the warehouse and see for myself that Kelsey is fine. Not fine, but alive. And breathing.

“You sure? No one would blame you for sitting this one out, Coop. She’s your girl, and it seems, from the outside, that she’s not just a hot lay.”

“She’s not,” I say with the same frustration that’s been dogging me since I heard Hector’s voice on the other end of my call to Kelsey.

“But that’s not what matters right now. I need to get in there. I need to be the one to save her.”

Shades flashes a crazy-eyed, satisfied smile. “All right then, brother. Let’s go fuck some shit up, yeah?”

I nod. “Hell, yeah. Santos is mine,” I tell him in all seriousness.

Shades claps me on the back. “You gotta get to him before I do.” His dark brows rise playfully, and he takes off toward the building, nodding for me to follow him. “Just make sure he doesn’t leave the building.”
