I end up getting ready at my mom’s—going with a long-sleeved olive-green sweater dress with the front cut low and buttons running down the sides, paired with high heeled boots. It’s recently snowed, and while I want to look good, I don’t want to die. My hair is down in long waves, and my makeup is on point. Underneath, I’m wearing a new bra and panty set that is going to have Camden drooling when he sees them on me later.
“You look gorgeous,” Camden says, stepping around the corner and startling me. I hadn’t realized he was already here. He’s dressed in a pair of dark denim jeans and a long-sleeved beige sweater with brown leather boots. His hair is gelled back, taming his usual messy do, and his facial hair is trimmed short. My thighs clench, imagining what his face will feel like between my legs later.
“Hey, bud, doesn’t your mom look beautiful?”
“Yeah,” Felix agrees, nodding.
“But I think she’s missing something. What do you think, Felix?”
“Yeah.” He giggles. “She’s missing something.”
“I am?” I glance down. “My jacket’s by the door…”
When I look up, Felix holds a black box wrapped with gold ribbon and a large shiny bow on top. “For you, Mommy. I helped Cam pick it out.”
I take it from him and unwrap and open the box, and nestled inside is a thin white-gold necklace with two charms hanging from it. The first is a camera charm—inside the lens is a beautiful sparkling diamond—and the other is a circle charm with a quote on it that reads: She believed she could, so she did.
“You guys,” I breathe, looking up at Camden and Felix. “You got this for me?” I ask Felix, who nods proudly.
“I told Cam your favorite thing is a camera.”
“Thank you, sweetheart.” I pull him into a hug and kiss his cheek. “I love it.”
I stand, and Camden takes the necklace from me. Lifting my hair, he puts it on me, then leans in and whispers, “So you always remember what your dream is.”
“Thank you.” I turn around and kiss him on the corner of his mouth. “This is the most thoughtful gift I’ve ever been given.”
After saying bye to my mom and reminding Felix to behave, we take off to dinner in the SUV with Camden’s driver driving us. On the way there, Camden and I can’t keep our hands off of each other. By the time we arrive at the restaurant, the only thing I’m hungry for is Camden, but apparently, he has a hell of a lot more restraint than me because when I mention that, he simply chuckles and tells me he’s taking me to dinner.
We’re escorted into the restaurant by his security and brought back to a private room, where there’s a comfy-looking circular booth with a round metal grill-looking thing in the center. Camden helps me remove my coat, then hands mine and his to the hostess, thanking her.
He has me slide in first, and then he slides in next to me, his hand coming down on my thigh. Pushing my dress up, he glides his hand over my flesh while the server introduces herself and explains that this is Korean barbecue and we’ll be cooking the food ourselves. I’ve never done this before, but Camden says he’s had it a few times while they were on tour, so he orders for us both. The server lights the grill and then lets us know the food will be ready shortly. After she drops off our drinks, we’re left alone.
“Thank you for my necklace,” I say again, needing him to know how much the simple gift means to me.
“It looks perfect on you,” he says, leaning over and kissing the crook of my neck. When he trails his nose along my flesh, I squirm in my seat.
“You can’t do that.” I groan. “I want you so badly, and you’re making us eat instead.”
When I pout half-playfully, Camden chuckles. “We have all night together, Shutterbug. I got us a room, and I plan to spend as much of the night as I can inside you.”
The server drops off our food, explains each item, and then leaves us to ourselves.
“You’re going to love this,” Camden says, dropping a bunch of meat and veggies onto the grill. I watch as he cooks them, and once they’re done, he captures a piece of meat between his chopsticks and brings it to my lips. The meat has a sweet taste to it and is full of flavor.
“What do you think?” he asks, taking a bite himself.
“Delicious.”
The meal is spent with Camden feeding me, and once we’ve both had enough, he gets the check so we can move on to the next part of our evening.
Of course, the room he’s booked is the penthouse suite, so we have the floor to ourselves. After he lets his security know we’re good for the night, we head up to the room. Champagne and strawberries are waiting for us, and when I ask what the occasion is, he says, “There isn’t one.” He pops the top of the bottle and pours us each a glass. “My goal in life is to spoil you and Felix. To show you both every chance I get how special you are to me.”
