I can’t help but laugh. Leave it to Madden to be sweet, and then follow it up with something like that. I wouldn’t have him any other way.

“As if company has ever stopped you before,” I tell him.

I can feel him smirking against my hair as he recalls how many times he’s dragged me into bathrooms or closets or other dark corners to have his way with me.

“What are you two whispering about over there?” Tori arches a brow at us.

“The usual.” I shrug innocently.

“I figured,” she snorts. “You two are sickeningly sweet.”

“Speak for yourself,” I say. “You and Kieran better get to work making your own baby so he stops stealing ours.”

Tori laughs as we all look at him. He’s the best uncle we could ever ask for, and the proof is in watching him tote Wyatt around with a burp cloth draped over his chest.

“He can’t help himself.” She blushes. “He loves babies.”

It isn’t a secret they both want a brother or sister for Olivia, and I have no doubts they’ll be well on their way to making one soon. Because tomorrow, Kieran’s planning to propose, and Tori has no idea. It’s the perfect ending to her story, and I can’t wait to see the rest of it unfold.

“Bianca.” Zoe screeches as she comes skidding down the hall, cheeks red and hair wild. “Come here!”

Madden and I look at each other, and we both follow her down the hall with matching expressions of concern as she darts into the bathroom.

“What’s going on?” Madden asks as we round the corner and stop short.

We both take one look at Rocket, our rescue dog, and Madden curses while I burst into a fit of laughter. He’s soaking wet and covered in mud.

Zoe offers us her best ‘oops’ smile and shrugs. “He wanted to play in the sprinkler with us.”

“And you called Bianca in here because you know she’s the softie,” Madden replies.

“Hey.” I shove him in the arm. “That’s not true.”

It’s totally true, but I can’t help it. I love her. I may not have birthed her, but she’s my daughter in every way that counts.

“Liar.” Madden gives me a smack on the ass, and I turn around and kiss him on the cheek.

“Put Wyatt down for his nap, will you?” I tell him. “I’ll get this cleaned up, and then I need your help with something.”

“I bet you do,” he smirks.

Zoe turns on the bath, and I lean up to whisper in Madden’s ear. “Give me twenty minutes.”

He brushes his thumb along my jaw as his eyes spark with heat. “I’ll give you fifteen, peaches. Don’t make me start without you.”

I’m still staring at his back, half melting into the floor when he walks away. That growly voice gets me every damned time.

“Bianca?” Zoe calls out.

I turn around and smile at her as I wipe away a smudge of dirt on her cheek. “Alright, kiddo. Let’s get Mr. Rocket cleaned up. Again.”

The End.
