I decide this is a good moment to usher my pet away. The other human does not need us observing her as she is punished. I do agree with my brother’s assessment. When it comes to humans, discipline is imperative.
“So they hate each other,” Jen muses as we walk away, locking the sick bay doors behind us. Kahn probably has the human in hand, but just in case she makes a break for it, the door may as well be secure.
“Hate’s a strong word. They barely know each other.”
“I bet they hook up. That’s chemistry right there.”
“Is it, pet?”
“Sure. Kahn’s a hard-ass who needs to make everything orderly, and she’s even more chaotic and vicious than I am. Do you know what she said to me when I said hello? She said, hello c-word. Actual c-word. A word more rude than I want to use.” Jen grins. “They’re made for each other.”
“I don’t know about that. Kahn has no interest in a pet.”
“Right, but you’re not going to be able to sell her. What are you going to do with her? Let one of the soldiers mate her?”
I do not know what will befall the feisty little human having her bottom soundly spanked over Kahn’s knee. I do know that life is not going to get any easier for any of us anytime soon.
