“Avi, girl. What are you still doing here? There’s a bunch of hot guys on the beach,” Tina exclaims. I didn’t see or hear her come in, but she walks past the sexy stranger.

She freezes when she follows my gaze, which is still focused on the handsome suit. “Tina, I’m almost done working.” I barely acknowledge as I stare at him. It’s foolish, but for the first time ever, my body’s aching in new places.

“Well, hello,” she whistles. “Yeah, you’re working it alright.” She rakes her eyes over the mysterious, bossy man.

Strangely, I feel possessive over him and snip out. “I’ll see you later.”

My brow raises, and she gets the hint, raising her hands in a quiet surrender. “Fine. I’ll see you out there.”

His lips give a slight upturn. “So, Avi? Can I get a drink?”

I’m not sure if I want to smack or kiss that smirk off his lips. “Sure. What will you have?”

“Whiskey on the rocks.” His voice is smoother than any brand of whiskey we have on these shelves, and my body heats up. Trying to fight off the instant attraction, I take the towel and walk around the bar without looking at him again. My hands shake as I set the glass on the mat because I can feel his stare. He watches me as I prepare his drink, but he’s not focused on the drink itself. His whole being is trained to my face.

“Here you go.” I set the glass in front of him, and he takes a drink without taking his eyes off me.

Once he sets it on the bar top, his jaw clenches as he snarls the words out. “So do you usually leave to hook up with hot guys on the beach?”

“Not usually.” He frowns clearly displeased with my dismissive response. I step away from him with a smirk and start cleaning up the bar top.

“Come here, Avi,” he bites out.

I slap my hands on my hips and scowl at the bossy bastard. “It’s actually Aviana, but only my friends call me Avi.”

“I like Aviana.” He says my name like he’s savoring it, sending my senses tingling. The man must have women falling for him everywhere he goes. “So tell me. How about you skip the fucking boys and spend the evening with me?”

And he had to go and ruin it. “Wow, you’re not a wine and dine her kind of guy. Do you at least give them your name?”

He tosses me a half-smile, and I can see a slight flush of embarrassment. “Sorry, It’s Cole Bennett. I don’t normally hit on a woman I’ve just met.”

“Well, then, I feel blessed.” I give him an eye roll and then continue cleaning the bar top. His eyes are trained on me so much I can feel them heating my flesh. My body is a damn traitor. She wants to climb his tall, thick frame and ride him all night.

“So do you want to spend the night with me?” he asks again.

I glare at the insistent bastard before I calmly reply, “I’m not a hooker or a whore, so no.”

“I didn’t say I wanted to fuck you.” I cock my brow up at him. Registering that I’m not buying that crock, he adds, “I’m not saying I don’t want to fuck you, but I don’t want you hanging around some drunk guys, and I want to get to know you.” Damn, I want to get to know him in every way, but I don’t want to seem eager.

“And I’m guessing you always get what you want?”

He chuckles and shrug his shoulders, drawing my attention to his throat. Holy shit, there’s just something sexy about the way his muscles flex. It’s no wonder men used to wear cravats. I’m practically a swooning maiden with handsome around. “I never wanted anything as much as you.”

The sincerity in his voice sends a shiver down my spine, but my brain doesn’t buy the line. “Bullshit. Let me see your hands.” He does as I ask and lays them flat with his palms down on the bar top. I run my hands over them as I get a better look at his hands, gasping from the sensation.

He releases a groan. “Shit, you can’t be touching me like that and moaning.” I was moaning? Shit. I’m in trouble.

He snatches my wrists as I try to pull them away, and he rubs his thumbs on my pulse. I shiver, unable to fight my reaction. “Please tell me you don’t usually feel up guys at the bar.”

I can’t tell if he’s actually jealous or testing my motives. The guy has my wires crossed and shorting. “I don’t. I wanted to see if you had a ring line.” I try to tug them away, but he holds them steady, wrapping his hands around mine in a romantic way.
