“Coal, I understand you, and seriously, it’s okay. You don’t need to keep coming around, saving me or trying to make me feel better. Believe it or not, since Scotty left town, I feel balanced again. I don’t have that creepy feeling, and I have found my calm.”

“I came here to take you on a date, Pixie.”

Her eyes open wide in shock. “A date?”

“You’re cute. You make me laugh. Pixie, ever since you crashed into my world, I have looked at everything differently. I’m a stubborn man, an asshole, but I laughed for the first time in years with you. I am drawn to you, and I wanna see if we can make a go of this. My past, your past, leave it all behind and just see where this can take us.”

She lowers her eyes as she bites her bottom lip nervously, and my heart skips a beat. Never thought in a million years I would be the guy who got all twisted up about a woman, yet here I am, twisted as fuck over this one. Then she looks up at me through those gorgeous eyelashes of hers and says the words I want to hear.

“I’d really like that, Trevor.”

Reaching down, I pull the helmet I got for her out of my saddlebag and hand it to her. “Then strap that on, babe, and let’s go. I’m starving.”

Paisley gives me a big smile that I swear I can feel all the way down to my dick. Then she quickly straps her helmet on and climbs on the motorcycle behind me, holding me tightly.

I roll back, and then drive out of the grocery store’s parking lot to a restaurant ten minutes away that I found out—thanks to Screech—serves vegan pizza.

The moment her eyes hit the sign, I can tell she has at least heard of the place and figured out I thought specifically of her when I chose it.

We sit in a booth, eat a vegan pizza, and talk for a while. It’s nice. I have never done this with a woman before.

When Pixie excuses herself to the bathroom, I make my move, waving the waitress over.

“You guys do anything cool for somebody’s birthday?”

The woman gives me a bright smile. “Yes, sir, we have a dessert pizza that you can order.”

“Good. Let me get one of those. No processed stuff. I know you’re vegan-friendly, but I’m new to this and want to get it right. My woman likes to live a clean life and eat clean foods. I’ll throw in an extra twenty if you guys will come out and sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to her.”

The waitress readily agrees after telling me she needs to do the truffles instead of the dessert pizza because of the refined sugar—whatever that means to her—and then scrambles to the back to put the order in.

Paisley comes back, and I distract her with questions about her job and how she likes it.

Ten minutes later, the waitress is back with two others, setting a chocolate truffle plate in front of Pixie with a candle in the middle.

I mentally pat myself on the back when Pixie gives me big owl eyes that say she knows exactly what I am up to.

“These are raw strawberry, crème chocolate truffles,” the waitress explains. “It is completely vegan-approved and gluten-free. The chocolate is made from coconut oil, raw cacao powder, and pure maple syrup. The crème is cashew butter; fresh strawberries; coconut oil; pink Himalayan salt; and again, we use maple syrup, but you can use raw agave nectar; vanilla extract; and a juiced lemon. All of these are made in the mornings so we have time to freeze them properly, so it’s fresh.” She then leans over and lights the candle.

I can’t help laughing at the way Pixie’s cheeks turn an adorable shade of pink as the waitresses sing “Happy Birthday” to her.

When the women finish, I lean over and whisper into her ear, “I’m not the only one who needs to have more fun, you know.”

Pixie lick her lips as she turns to face me. “I can think of a whole lot of fun I want to have with you, Trevor. That is … if you’re interested.”

“Gotta tell you, Pixie”—I blow out a breath, unsure of myself for the first time in a long time—“I can’t remember the last time I was with a woman and didn’t pay for her company.”

“I’m happy to loosen you up, Coal,” she flirts.

My cock goes from soft to rock-hard in three seconds flat. Hell, I am so hard that my fucking zipper is hurting me. Hell yeah, I want to have fun with the sexy, little sprite sitting next to me.

Leaning over, I drag a finger through the cream filling spilling out of one of the truffles then bring it up to her lips. “Baby, I’ll give you so much fun that you’ll walk funny tomorrow if you let me. You might even be sore by the time I’m done with you, but I fucking promise I’ll make it worth it.”
