Breck shifted on his stool. “You’re positive that stuff’s fully cooked?”
“Yes,” Kai laughed, neatly rolling it all up. “And just so you know, I’ve made you the tamest kind of sushi on the face of the planet. Very palatable. I promise you’ll like it.”
“Awesome.” Breck scratched his neck. “So, what’s it called?”
“A California roll. Technically classified as maki-zushi, which just means ‘rolled’ sushi.”
Typically, he’d coat it in fish roe next. This time, however, he opted for sesame seeds on Breck’s behalf. Grabbing a knife, he sliced the log into one-inch pieces, then moved them to a plate and mixed up some soy sauce with a bit of wasabi.
Moment of truth.
He snagged some chopsticks and handed one set to Breck, then presented him with his dish and smiled widely. “Dinner is served.”
Demonstrating how to eat it, he dipped it in the soy sauce, then brought it to Breck’s mouth.
Breck eyed it, then eyed Kai, then eyed it again.
“Open up,” Kai laughed. “You’re gonna like it. I swear.”
Breck parted his lips. Kai inserted the slice, then waited expectantly for Breck to experience this most heavenly wonder.
Breck started to chew, his gaze thoughtfully straying. Moments ticked by. Finally, he swallowed and looked back at Kai. “Damn… That was… good.” He peered down at his plate. “Really different from burgers, but… yeah, I like it. Like, maybe even a lot.”
Kai grinned, inclining his head. “Bon appétit.”
As Breck took another bite, Kai poured them some tea, then made a couple more rolls. Conversation was casual all through dinner. Entertaining and comfortable. Bodies close, limbs brushing. An occasional kiss. Breck made him laugh on more than one occasion, sometimes intentionally, but just as often not. As always, Kai found him adorable and so deliciously endearing. In many ways, his handsome lover was still so young. And yet his spirit, in all its newfound sovereignty, was so dynamic and bright.
Toward the end of their meal, Breck filled him in on his talk with his parents. Kai had to admit, he’d been a little surprised. He’d expected Breck’s dad to take it worse. Although, with the knowledge that his parents had been in a similar boat, he supposed it made sense.
Ultimately, Breck finished every morsel of his sushi. And then he insisted on helping Kai clean up. At which point, Kai led him into his garden and taught him a bit of qigong. Lots of slow, low-key meditative movements, working the current of their life-force energy into a circulating flow.
Breck seemed to like it. Asked Kai to show him more later. Which Kai graciously agreed to—in exchange for some help in the shower to scrub his back. Breck’s arm hadn’t needed to be twisted.
Lots of back scrubbing ensued.
Lots of mind-blowing back scrubbing.
Just like last night, Breck had gone to his knees, had taken Kai deep and let him fuck his throat. Kai’d been happy to return the favor. And then, while still on his knees, he’d turned his lover around. Fuck, Breck’s decadent moans as he ate him out. Or when he finally entered him and started to move, the way Breck grasped at the tile. Ass beautifully canted while up on the balls of his feet as Kai drove in deep.
What started out as slow and sensual turned vigorous fast.
Before they’d finished, the water had turned ice cold. So they bypassed towels and promptly relocated to resume in bed. Breck licked the droplets off Kai’s chest, Kai laved them off his neck. Then, with fingers twined and gazes locked, they made some mad crazy love.
The exchange was sublime, their sexual connection already stronger than last night. Never in Kai’s life had he experienced anything so profound. And when they came, they came intensely—together. Chests heaving, hearts pounding, as they splintered as one, then came back the same way.
Bodies glistening, they slumped in a tangle of bliss.
When Kai’s breathing calmed, his heart beginning the task of quieting down, he withdrew from Breck’s body and eased back onto his side. Breck turned and faced him, his gaze sated, his pupils huge. And yet, Kai detected a contemplative look in his eyes.
He cupped his cheek and slowly stroked it with his thumb. Smiled warmly, then murmured, “Your brain is churning, lover. What’s on your mind?”
Breck’s lips curved, his cheeks still flushed. “I was just… I dunno, I was just thinking…”
“About?”
He worried his lip, as if unsure if he should say.
So adorable!
Kai tamped a laugh. “Spit it out.”
Breck grinned. “Fine.” He propped himself on his elbow. “Come to Hawaii,” he blurted brightly. “Meet me there.”
Kai stilled. Blinked in surprise. Hadn’t seen that coming.
But then his heart warmed at the meaning behind Breck’s request. He wanted Kai there, didn’t want them to be separated. In truth, being on opposite ends of the planet sat poorly with Kai, as well. Still, it didn’t feel right to encroach on Breck’s trip with his friends.
