“Hmm, that’s an interesting book, lelka.”

“Oh!” Abbey fumbled with her tablet, her cheeks burning hot. Unfortunately, embarrassment made her clumsy and instead of turning the book off, she accidentally turned up the volume.

“I want to lick your pussy!” the tablet blared in its tinny, mechanical voice. “I want to make you come all over my face!”

“Oh my God!” Abbey was filled with mortification! She fumbled some more with the tablet and finally got it turned of. “I…I’m so sorry!” she said as the big golden blur that was Solon sat down beside her on the couch. “I…I didn’t know you were standing there.”

“Why should you be sorry?” he sounded honestly confused. “And why are you so embarrassed?”

“You’re not even touching me—how do you know I’m embarrassed?” Abbey demanded.

“Because your cheeks are flushed and red.” One big hand cupped her burning cheek gently. “You never have to feel ashamed around me, lelka. So what if you wish to listen to sexual material on your tablet? You have the right to pleasure yourself any way you want to.”

“I…I wasn’t touching myself, if that’s what you’re implying!” Abbey protested uneasily.

“I wasn’t, actually, but even if you were—so what?” he said and since he was still touching her, she felt his sincerity.

“I…I wouldn’t do that,” Abbey said quickly. “I mean, especially not out in the living room!”

“Why is self-pleasure such an embarrassing concept for you?” Solon sounded honestly bewildered. “It’s your body—why shouldn’t you touch it however you want? Or listen to things which give you pleasure?” he added, tapping her tablet, which lay forgotten in her lap.

“It’s just…it’s private,” Abbey said. She sighed. “And anyway, I can’t exactly say that what I was listening to was giving me much pleasure.”

“Oh? Then why listen to it?” Solon asked, sounding confused.

“Well, if it was done as an audiobook and read by a real narrator it would be better,” Abbey told him. “But it’s a new book so it’s not out in audio yet—so I was having the tablet read it to me. And the voice is just, well…it’s not very good. It sounds like a robot reading sex.”

“Oh—I thought maybe you preferred that tone when listening to audio erotica,” Solon remarked.

Abbey snorted.

“Hardly. I think I’m going to have to put this one down and wait until it comes out as an audiobook,” she added. “It’s just not very good like this.”

“Maybe I could read it to you,” he suggested, surprising Abbey to the core.

“What?” she exclaimed. “I mean…really?”

There was a motion in her field of vision and she thought he might be shrugging.

“Certainly. Why not?”

“Well, I mean…you don’t think it would be, uh, embarrassing?”

“Not at all. Not for me, anyway,” he said. “But would you find it too embarrassing to have me read to you?”

“Well, no…I guess not,” Abbey said slowly. “It’s a romance novel though,” she added. “I don’t know if you’d like it very much.”

“The little bit I heard sounded intriguing. Why should I not enjoy a novel about romance?” he asked, sounding curious.

“Well, because it’s a girl thing,” Abbey said. “Down on Earth, women mostly like romance novels while men like books about spies and war and that kind of thing.”

“You humans seem to have divided your interests very strangely,” he remarked. “Why would a male not be interested in romance? Isn’t it every male’s dream to find his fated mate? I would rather read books about that than stories of war and battles. I have fought in many battles and I don’t need a reminder of them,” he added.

“That’s not how human men think at all,” Abbey told him. “Most of them are afraid of commitment—they’re not looking to find romance and settle down like you Monstrum seem to want to do.”

“Then they’re fools,” Solon remarked. “There is nothing better in life than finding the one female the Goddess has set aside for you and wooing her and giving her pleasure.”

“Really? Is that why you want to read to me? To, uh, give me pleasure?” Abbey asked. She could feel her cheeks heating for a different reason now.

“Certainly—I want to give you pleasure any way I can.” His voice was a deep, purring rumble. “Would you like me to read to you, Abbey?”

“Well…only if you really want to. You can start at the beginning of the page,” she offered him the tablet.

“Hmm…” Solon seemed to be scanning through the scene she’d been listening to. “All right, let’s see…”

He began reading and Abbey listened. The scene was a seduction, as the male main character tried to convince the female main character to go to bed with him. It was written from the male’s point of view, so it worked well to have the big Monstrum read it.

“Listen to me.” I took her hand and pulled her to me. Her breasts were soft as they pressed against my chest and she gave a little gasp but didn’t try to back away. She wanted this—I could smell her desire, her need—rising like a rare perfume to tickle my nose.
