“It fits you perfectly,” I said, making sure the top didn’t need to be taken in anywhere.

“Do you think Georgiana will like it?” Lily asked.

I rested my chin on her shoulder and stared at my beautiful younger cousin in the mirror. “She’s going to love it. Trust me.”

“I still can’t believe she wants to be surprised with the dresses,” Merit said.

“Me too, but she trusts me for some reason.” I studied the top of the dress. “I’m going to make one small adjustment,” I said, grabbing my notebook and then glancing at Lily. “I hope you don’t mind if your boobs get pushed up a bit more?”

Her eyes sparkled. “If you can make these babies pop, I’m all for it.”

Aunt Timberlynn groaned while everyone else laughed.

“You can go change,” I said. “Hang it back up and leave it in there.”

Next up was Avery. I’d designed her dress to be a bit less sexy. “Avery? You ready?” I called out.

It was Merit’s turn to stand. When her daughter walked out, I saw her wipe away a tear.

“Sweetheart, you’re growing up so fast.”

“Isn’t it beautiful, Mom?” Avery asked as she did a spin.

The group of women let out another round of compliments.

I smoothed down the skirt of Avery’s dress. “So, for Avery’s dress, I went with something a bit more simple since she’s the baby of the group.”

“Hey, don’t call me a baby,” Avery muttered, crossing her arms over her chest.

Pulling them down to her sides, I went on. “The delicate spaghetti straps and V-neckline still give it a romantic feel, but it’s age appropriate. I love the crisscross in the back with the ruffles. It’s so playful!”

“It’s beautiful, Morgan,” my mother assured me and Merit nodded.

“Thank you, Morgan. My daughter looks beautiful,” she said, giving me a kiss on the cheek.

Rose was up next. Her dress was the same chiffon fabric but the design was a ruffled cold-shoulder cut with a deep V in the back.

Aunt Kaylee hugged her and whispered something in her ear that made Rose’s cheeks turn a shade darker than her blush-colored dress.

“Now we have Mary’s dress, the maid of honor!” I announced.

Mary and Georgiana had grown very close since Georgiana had first interviewed her last fall, and then remained with her and her brother for an extended stay. I had gotten to visit for a week right before Christmas, and Mary and I had instantly hit it off, becoming fast friends as well. She’d flown to Montana a couple of times to visit over the last several months, and now would be in town until after the wedding. She was staying with Georgiana and Blayze while she was here.

Slipping out of the dressing room, Mary smiled when everyone gasped at the sight of her. She wore the same material as the rest of us, but her dress was a figure-flattering drape with off-the-shoulder straps that gave the entire dress a romantic silhouette. The back was a draped cowl that cascaded in layers from the delicate straps, giving it a sexy, soft look. The full-length circle skirt showed off her hourglass shape to perfection.

I had to admit, I’d knocked it out of the park with these dresses.

“It fits you like a glove,” I said as I admired her image in the mirror.

Speaking in her beautiful British accent, she replied, “Well, the designer clearly knows what she’s doing.”

I gave her a hug and then turned to the rest of the group. “Okay, Mary will change and help me with my dress now.”

My mother beamed with happiness.

I slipped out of my clothes and donned the dress, a simple and charming seamed bodice with a flowing, full-length skirt. To add a touch of sexy, there was a center split and a flattering V neckline. The crisscross spaghetti straps added that classic romantic feel I was going for with all of the dresses.

“It was smart to make each dress zip up in the back,” Mary stated as she zipped me into mine. Placing her hands on my shoulders, she turned me to face her. “You know, if you ever want to expand your line, I would love to feature these gowns in my new bridal collection. And I saw the dress you designed for Georgiana. I want you to know…I offered to design her a gown, but she insisted on having you do it.”

Tears instantly pricked at the back of my eyes, and I attempted to blink them away. I couldn’t believe Georgiana had passed up Mary’s offer to design her dress. My heart felt like it was going to explode in my chest. Mary was now one of Europe’s top designers. She’d recently taken part in the Paris spring show and had gained even more popularity since. She was also making a name for herself here in the States.

“Georgiana picked me over you for her wedding gown? Is she insane?”
