My hand shook as I slid the key into the lock and opened the door. I was finally going to have her all to myself. After almost three years of wanting and waiting, I’d be able to feel those lips on mine once more.

The sound of the door opening caused Morgan to jump up and run to the farthest corner of the room. It was dark inside.

“Let me go!” Morgan cried. “Please! Just let me go!”

Reaching over, I turned on the light switch and watched and waited as my beautiful girl’s eyes adjusted to the bright light of the room.

When she finally stopped blinking, her eyes went wide and her mouth dropped open in shock.

“I’ve been waiting a long time for this moment, Morgan.”

She slowly stood, a confused expression crossing her perfect face as she said one word…but that word was music to my ears.

“Bradford?”

Chapter Twenty-Three

MORGAN

I stood there in shock as I stared at the man I had come to know the last couple months. Ryan and Blayze’s friend. My friend.

My entire body started to shake when he shut the door and locked it. “I’m a little hurt you don’t remember me, Morgan.”

With a shake of my head, I said, “I do remember you. You’re Bradford. Ryan and Blayze’s friend. Savannah’s fiancé.”

He lifted a brow. “I’m not your friend?”

“Yes,” I quickly said. “What are you doing here? What’s happening? Where am I?”

Slowly moving through the room, he stopped on the other side of the bed and sat down.

“You don’t remember me? Our kiss meant something to you—don’t deny it.”

I blinked in confusion. “Our kiss?”

He tsked as he slowly shook his head. “I uprooted my entire life to move to Hamilton. Then I had to befriend your brother, and it didn’t take me long to figure out old Ryan boy had a thing for you. Every time you came home from school, I saw the way he looked at you. And you—you looked at him the same way. But I can forgive you. I’d forgive you for anything…even giving your virginity to him.”

I pressed my hand to my mouth as my chest constricted in fear. After a long pause, I dropped my hand and asked softly, “How do you know that?”

He smirked. “Because I know everything. I know you let him take that gift that should have been for me.”

“Wh-what? How?” Did Ryan tell him that he took my virginity? No…no, he’d never do that…

“Oh, Morgan. I’ve been watching you ever since the night you kissed me.”

“What are you talking about, Bradford? I’ve never kissed you! I only met you two months ago!”

Anger contorted his features and he stood. “Why don’t you remember?!” he shouted.

I jumped and pressed my fist to my mouth to keep from crying again. Bradford started to pace across the room, his face blood red.

“The minute you walked into that party, I realized instantly you were supposed to be mine.”

What in the world was he talking about?

“Then the way you smiled at me, so sweetly, I knew you weren’t like any of the other whores in that place. Your innocence poured off you in waves…delicious, exciting waves…”

I stared at him, utterly confused.

“You flirted with me, Morgan. Made me hard as a damn rock for you.” Bradford gave me a smarmy grin, and my eyes went to his mouth.

I’d seen that smile before! But where? Where had I seen it?

I slowly shook my head. I couldn’t remember, damn it!

“Maybe we should kiss so you can be reminded. I see the way you’re thinking so hard, trying to remember where we met.”

Pressing myself against the wall, I shook my head. “I don’t want to kiss you.”

His smile faded. “Why? Because of him? Do you know what it did to me to watch you fucking him night after night!?”

My entire body went rigid. “What do you mean?”

He laughed, low and dark. “You like to be on top. And you like it when he licks that pretty pussy of yours.”

My stomach lurched, and I instantly covered my mouth. I was going to get sick. Throw up right there. “Oh God…no. Please, no!”

“Every time I saw that bastard, I wanted to strangle him with my bare hands. He took what was mine. I hated him for that,” he seethed. “I tried to crush his little dream of owning his own bar. I wanted that power over him. But when I told him—he couldn’t have cared less! That was because of you, Morgan. All because you couldn’t keep your legs closed and wait for me.”

The room started to spin, and I felt like I was going to pass out. He’d been watching us. Watching us in our own home.

“Are you okay there, princess?”

My gaze jerked up when he took a step toward me. I held out my hands. “Stay away from me! Don’t you dare touch me!”
