He kept a close eye on her as well.
She was close to six months pregnant with their second child, and she’d been a little unsteady on her feet, which was why he’d stayed at home more often. The doctor said she was doing too much.
When she had given birth to Bethany, he’d been completely shocked when Bunny announced she wanted to be a full-time mom. After all of her commitments to work, he had assumed she’d want to go back to her career. Not that he minded. She did all of his work for him at home anyway, and often answered calls for him when he was there.
There was no way anyone else would ever be able to fill her shoes as his PA. Bunny was the best and now she was his wife, and the mother of his children. Being married to her was a dream come true. A dream he hadn’t even realized he was waiting for.
She was the right woman for him. The only woman for him.
He rushed toward his wife, wrapping his arms around her, pressing his face against her neck, listening to her giggle and scream.
“Quick, Bethany, run,” she said.
Her hands held his arms and all he wanted to do was push her to the floor and make love to her. He watched Bethany run away, her little feet not getting her too far.
“I love you,” he said.
“I love you too. I’m so happy.”
“You’re okay?” He touched her stomach and she smiled.
“Yes. More than okay. Now go and grab our little girl.”
He kissed her hard and rushed forward, scooping their daughter into his arms and placing her on his shoulders.
“Yes, Daddy, run, run.”
He was careful as he did what she asked and each time he looked toward Bunny, she was laughing.
She sat on the picnic blanket, putting their food onto plates and when his stomach began to growl, he walked over, placing Bethany down.
He dropped another kiss to Bunny’s lips. This was the life he hadn’t even known he wanted.
He was happy, contented, in love, and it was just perfect.
