He didn’t understand it. Cash turned out to be an extreme source of happiness. His pretty boy had an ability to keep all the worries and discord at a distance. His head hadn’t been screaming at him since the moment they met. He hadn’t dialed Tena one time, let alone a thousand times, telling her what a cunt she was. He considered that a win. Life seemed easier to manage with Cash staying at his place at night.

Two mornings ago, when he’d awakened on his own and alone in bed, Dev had whipped off the blankets with force, ready to storm across the hall and demand another five-star fucking.

Then he’d entered the main part of his apartment. How the smell of disinfectant and cleaner hadn’t assaulted his nose from the minute his eyes popped open spoke to how situationally unaware he was when it came to that generous man.

He swore his apartment sparkled like a Mr. Clean commercial.

Cash had washed every single surface in his house. Piles of clothing, towels, sheets, and blankets were folded neatly and left on the kitchen island. Cash had to have been up all night to manage all his mess. A handwritten note was tucked underneath Dev’s wallet and keys. His cell phone was plugged into the charger next to the entry table.

Dev,

I let you sleep.

The only thing left to do is wash the sheets on your bed.

You were passed out. You didn’t wake when I ran the vacuum. I’ll make good on your other requests this evening.

Text me when you get home. I’ve got an early morning meeting.

~ Cash

Cash left his phone number.

Dev read it again, noting the efficient script. No unnecessary words.

Why did it feel like a heartfelt love note?

Maybe because he couldn’t remember anyone caring enough to clean for him then explain themselves in writing.

Dev used his phone that Cash had placed on the charger to snap pictures of the clean house then of the note.

He texted Cash, giving an oath to try to keep the apartment this clean forever.

He also tried his hand at sexting.

“I’m fucking you so good tonight, pretty boy.”

He pushed send then sent another. “Be ready. I’ll do the stretching.” And another text. “Fucking you right in the middle of my clean living room floor.” He had another thought, typing quickly. “I’m sketching you the way you look when you come.” He pressed send again.

At this point, why stop? Fuck Cash’s meeting. He grinned as he continued to type.

“Maybe ink that picture on my belly. I’ve been searching for just the right tattoo for there.”

He pushed send and tossed the phone on the table to keep from sending any other messages. His depraved mind ran wild with ideas of inking the image of Cash in the throes of his orgasm for the world to see. He hadn’t taken a step away before he picked up the phone and added.

“With your tongue out, wanting to catch my come. My steel aiming at your mouth.” He pushed send as his cock proved how hard it could get.

He could get into sexting.

His body tingled and hummed any time he thought about the hours he and the pretty boy spent together, exploring each other’s bodies. Sex was so much better when meaning and thoughtfulness were added. He’d never realized it could be so good.

Cash had such a strong sex drive. The guy’s recovery time was insane.

He should get a stash of Viagra just in case he needed a lift to keep up with the guy.

He hadn’t smoked weed in days. He’d been too obsessed with Cash to even think about it.

He gripped his cock and took a picture, sending it to Cash.

“Where did you just go?” his mom asked.

Shit. He’d completely tuned out. Only drawing back into the kitchen to find he was straddling a barstool, placing the cookies on top of the center island.

“Umm…” He rewound their conversation. Keyes had been their topic. He tried for a blind answer, hoping to hit somewhere in the range of her question.

“He’s good. We started a new back tattoo on him today. It’s massive. Gonna take time to fill in, but it’s good. He’s so fuckin’ tough.” Dev looked at his mom. “Never flinched once. We were there for most of the day.”

“You’re like that too,” she said. “I remember when your friend set your back tattoo. You never moved a muscle. Did you invite Keyes to Thanksgiving?”

“I did but he says he’s got plans. He’s changin’ in a good way. Real balanced.” Dev tried for a succinct update.

“He was always oddly stable for what he grew up in.” She placed the plate of mashed potatoes and green beans in the microwave. His heart sang at the fried chicken underneath the grease spotted paper towel on the stove. She pointed to the chicken. “What pieces do you want?”
