“You’re really worried about Brie? She has slumber parties with Cato and Kian on the regular.” Callan chuckles. “And Jax is marrying my brother.”

“I’m not worried about them,” I admit. “It’s everyone else that can go to hell.” Callan abandons his seat and crawls my way. He straddles my lap, spearing his fingers into my hair. The cab is dark, but there’s enough moonlight reflecting off the nearby bay that I can see half his handsome face clearly.

“Your parents?” he asks.

I never came out and told either of my parents, but I’m sure Dean Bell gladly passed on that information to them. Especially my father.

“I don’t know if they know. Truth is, my parents couldn’t ever handle my attitude, so we weren’t close. I wouldn’t have given them any more ammunition against me.”

“So you just don’t tell anyone? Not even your sister?”

“I figure what I do isn’t any of their business. If they see me around with a guy, then that’s that. I’m not going to go around hollering it from the rooftops.”

Callan smiles. “That’s an image I’d like to see. You, standing on top of the police station belting out how much you like dick.”

“Love. I love dick.” I slide my hands to his round butt. “And ass. I really love ass.”

Earlier, after breakfast, we were both too tired to fuck around. When we’d woken up, I rushed Callan along for our date. Based on the way he slowly grinds against my dick through our clothes, I’d say he’s just as horny as I am.

He’ll have to wait.

I have special plans for later.

“What about your parents?”

“They’re dead,” Callan spits out icily.

“I know.” I squeeze his ass. “I’m sorry. I meant, how did they take learning you were gay or did they already know?”

His body relaxes, and he gives a one-shouldered shrug. “Dante paved the way for me. He was bringing boyfriends around by the time I was born. Having a gay brother was normal for me, so when I started crushing on all his boyfriends as I grew older, it wasn’t a surprise to my family when I came out. Mom died before I came out, but I think she knew.”

“Are you okay?” I ask, nuzzling his neck that smells sweet enough to lick. “Last night must’ve been scary.”

Callan grows quiet, his fingers gently playing with the hairs at my nape. “I feel like it’s been this way since we’ve moved here.”

“You shouldn’t be used to it, though,” I growl. “It’s fucked up.”

“Not used to it. Just better able to handle it.”

He shouldn’t have to handle hate at all. For people like me, even though I don’t broadcast my life, I don’t care when it’s found out. People don’t usually mess with me. But, I’m not young or small. Back when I was his age and a whole lot smaller, Dean Bell had no problems with throwing his power around to make me feel like shit.

“I talked to Jax. We’re not going to tolerate it anymore. It’s out of control. I don’t care if I have to drag everyone to jail.”

Callan laughs. A lovely, innocent sound. “You make life a lot more interesting. I’m glad you’re here.”

“Me too.”

He tugs at the back of my hair and then presses his lips to mine. It’s a sweet kiss from a boy who can be such a sourpuss sometimes. I love it. I crave to devour him. Little by little.

“You ever had a serious boyfriend?” Callan asks, his words a whisper on my mouth. “You’re so old, I’d expect you to be married by now.”

I tug on his bottom lip with my teeth and then let go. “No serious boyfriends. Just casual hookups and a few friends with benefits along the way.”

“Whoever thought friends with benefits was a good idea was really dumb.”

“Not everyone falls in love like Baby Bell.”

Callan shakes his head, grinning. “If he heard you call him Baby Bell, he’d kick your ass.”

“I can handle him.” I wink. “I got you a present.”

His eyes widen almost comically. “Yeah?”

“Technically, it’s a present to myself, but you have to wear it.”

“This seems sketchy.”

“Not sketchy,” I assure him. “Hot.” I give his ass smack through the denim. “Check the glove box.”

Callan slides off my lap to sit next to me on the bench seat. With the truck engine off, the temperature is dropping pretty quickly. We’ll need to head back soon so we don’t freeze to death.

“Should I be scared?” he asks, leaning forward to open the glovebox. He shoots me a confused look over his shoulder as he tugs out a small gift bag with tissue paper inside. “It’s pretty.”

“Fuck yeah, it is.”

His eyebrow hikes up, but he’s quiet as he sits back with the gift bag. He tugs out the tissue and reaches inside. A flood of heat rushes straight to my dick when he pulls out the lacy material.
