I entered a room upholstered in soft, creams and delicate pinks. Hale sat in a crisp robe holding a flute of champagne. I smiled nervously.

“Your champagne.” The attendant lowered a tray and I accepted the glass.

“Thank you.”

As soon as she left I sipped thirstily, emptying the glass. The lounge quickly transformed into a padded cell.

Hale appeared more at ease with the schedule shift. “This was nice of Phina.”

“Very,” I agreed, tapping my foot nervously. “We should get her a gift for everything she’s done to help. Something extra.”

We already had special favors for the wedding party that Quinn helped me put together. The girls were getting personalized Christian Dior totes, Chanel perfume, and Tiffany & Co. compacts, plus a few other more personal items I threw in. Hale was gifting the guys with Hermes overnight bags.

His finger traced over my knee and I stilled.

“Nervous?”

I was always a little nervous when Hale touched me, but today I felt especially jittery. “Just eager to get my rub down.”

He frowned just as my face blanched. We both knew I hated being touched by strangers. I needed to stop acting more than my usual level of weird and chill the hell out.

Keeping his hand on my thigh, he leaned back and sighed contently. “I can’t believe we’re finally here.”

“It’s crazy,” I agreed.

“Sometimes it felt like this week would never come.”

It was interesting how differently we saw situations. For Hale, he acted like it took a lifetime for us to reach this moment. For me, it felt like we just met yesterday. In reality, we hadn’t even known each other a year and any sane person would think we were rushing to the altar at breakneck speeds.

I looked around. “Did they leave a bottle for refills?”

“Here.” He poured his champagne in my glass.

“I’m disappointed,” he whispered and I turned, panic tightening in my chest.

“Why?”

“I wanted some time alone with you today.”

“We are alone.”

“No. I mean alone, alone.” His finger dragged slowly up my thigh, parting my robe.

“Hale.” I caught his wrist. “They probably have cameras in here.”

“So?”

“So…” My face burned. “You can’t do that.”

“I think I can.” He pressed his hand deeper and stilled when he met an unexpected layer of cotton. “Are you wearing underwear?”

“Don’t laugh at me. You know I’m uncomfortable being naked in front of people.”

He withdrew his hand and smirked. “I’ll admit, I’m a little pleased.”

I looked down at his lap. “Are you wearing—”

He flashed his cock.

“Jesus, Hale!”

He laughed. “What are they going to do, Rayne?”

“You can’t just expose yourself like that in public places.”

“We’re not in public.”

“What about the cameras? You’re suddenly an exhibitionist? Flashing people with that semi-hard Gonzo nose. Let’s see the tabloids publish that?”

“I think they’ll need bigger pages.”

I scoffed and rolled my eyes. “God has some sense of humor.”

“What does that mean?”

“Just that the assembly lines up there aren’t all functioning at the same efficiency when they’re deciding which humans get what parts.” I shook my head, refusing to look at him and the small tent he’d pitched between his legs. “You’re already too pretty, but then they gave you that thing. I swear, you could make a horse jealous.”

He chuckled. “This is the first I’ve heard you complain. Would you rather I had a smaller one?”

“I’d rather you not expose my toys without my permission. Look, I bet that shell decoration on that shelf has a camera pointed at you right now.”

“It’s a spa. They’re used to seeing the human body in its natural form. Do you know how many naked asses have probably sat on this sofa?”

“Then I’m glad I opted for underwear,” I mumbled.

There was a soft knock on the door. “Welcome, Mr. & Mrs. Davenport. I’m Arina,” the woman wore a white lab coat to finish off her sterile appearance. “Your masseurs are waiting this way. Follow me please.”

“Mrs. Davenport?” I raised a brow, glancing over my shoulder at Hale.

He cupped my ass. “Has a nice ring to it, don’t you think?”

I swatted his hand away. “I do.”

As we walked after Arina, he tugged the belt of my robe loose and I caught the lapels just in time.

He laughed and I hissed, “Stop it.” Glancing back at the bulge in his robe, I rolled my eyes. “I hope they make you lay on your stomach first.”

“I hope to fuck you in the sauna when we’re done.” He pinched my ass and I squeaked, jogging after Arina.

The massage was more enjoyable than I expected. The champagne had relaxed me and being that it was ninety-minutes I had plenty of time to adjust. I’d say the last ten minutes were my favorite part. By then they were mostly working on my scalp, which I could handle.

Afterwards, Hale and I took a steam, which felt like a self-induced asthma attack. I left before the timer went off and before Hale could fulfill his fantasy of a hot-coal-fuck. He stayed to enjoy the heat a while longer while I took a cold shower.
