“We want to get memberships,” Harbor began. “Do you have time to get us signed up?” She glanced at my shelf. “I know you were in the middle of something.”

“Of course, I do,” I assured her. “Come on. My office might be a tight squeeze, but—”

“No problem,” Cecily assured me, putting me at ease. “If Beau’s big frame can fit in there, I’m sure the three of us can.”

I laughed. Beau was very thick when it came to the amount of muscle he had. But it just made me love him all the more. When I was wrapped in those thick, muscled arms, I felt safest. Like nothing in this world could touch me as long as he was surrounding me with his strength.

I slid behind my desk and grabbed a folding chair I had sitting there. It was left over from when I was waiting for my office chair to come in before I opened, and I never got around to taking it home. And that worked out in my favor today.

I lifted it over my desk, and Harbor took it from me. After she unfolded it, she took a seat beside Athena and Cecily. “Beau has barely been around the clubhouse since the two of you started seeing each other,” Cecily casually mentioned. I located the tablet I needed and began pulling up the membership form, my cheeks coloring the slightest bit. “Surprised he hasn’t brought you around yet.”

Was it a bad thing that he hadn’t? I thought maybe we were just taking things slow and at our own pace.

“We’re taking things slow,” I told her as I passed her the tablet.

“Slow?” Athena asked incredulously as Cecily began filling out the form. Harbor roughly elbowed her, making her scowl. “These guys don’t do slow.” I could hear the confusion in her voice.

I frowned. Was Beau not serious about me like I was about him? My stomach cramped at the thought.

“Don’t listen to them,” Harbor quickly told me. “There’s nothing wrong with taking things slow. And Beau is always quick to shut the guys up when they start teasing him about you, so he’s definitely all in with you. You two will eventually move forward, and it doesn’t matter how long that takes so long as you both are happy with the pace you’ve set for yourselves.”

“Have you two had sex yet?” Athena blurted.

“Jesus Christ, Athena!” Harbor barked at the same time Cecily smacked her arm, a scowl on her features.

“I—we—what?” I stammered, completely caught off guard. Athena really did not have a filter.

“You do not have to answer that,” Harbor rushed to tell me. She cut Athena a dark look. “I’d say Athena is usually more behaved than this, but I’d be lying right out my ass.”

“It was just a question,” Athena grumbled. “Sorry,” she told me. “I’m not used to having to bite my tongue.”

I cleared my throat. Fuck, Seb had his work cut out for him when it came to her, no doubt about it. But if they were married, then he obviously knew how to handle her. Which I guessed was nice.

As for me, her question wasn’t offensive. Just caught me majorly off guard.

“We have not had sex,” I told Athena, looking her in the eye.

Her eyes widened. The room went deadly silent.

“Wait—you haven’t?” Cecily asked incredulously.

I shook my head, swallowing thickly. “We have not,” I confirmed.

Cecily thrust the tablet at Athena, who made an oof sound when it connected with her chest. “Beau really is serious about you then.” A wide grin pulled at her lips. “I guess I should say welcome to the family, Mikayla.”

I laughed. “He hasn’t even confessed anything to me yet,” I told her. Even if I so badly wanted him to. I just wasn’t sure when he might. Or if even did love me.

Cecily arched a brow at me. “So, you love him?”

My cheeks colored red. She’d caught on to the fact that I’d said him—not me.

“I do,” I quietly confessed.

Harbor let loose a little squeal. “Oh, my God!” she gushed. “I’m so glad you love him because that man is head over heels in love with you. Mark my words.”

A smile pulled at my lips, and hope stirred in my chest. I only hoped she was right because now that the seed was planted, I desperately wanted her to be right.

I wanted Beau to love me. I didn’t want this to be one-sided.

“We’re going to have a barbecue this weekend,” Cecily said as she crossed her knee over her other leg. “You should come.”

I blinked at her in surprise. That sounded like a family event. Would it really be okay if I went?

Then again, I should probably check in with Beau about it first. If he wasn’t ready for me to meet all of his family, then maybe I shouldn’t take her up on the offer.
