"Oh my God. I love you too. Oh, Major. I love you so much."
"And that's not just because I'm knocking you up?"
She laughs. "I mean, it has something to do with it," she says as the pleasure rolls over our bodies. I stare into her eyes, wrapped up in her body, and fuck, filling her too. "You're really going to make me a mommy?"
"Yeah, I am. And you're going to make me a dad, and then we're going to fucking do it again."
"Oh, my God," she says, "I want to fuck you until the day I die."
"Good," I say, "because that's what I want too.”
She rolls over, releasing me, panting, trying to catch her breath. And I smile, taking her in. She looks over at me, licking her lips.
"You know what I always wanted to try?"
"What?" I ask.
"Well, I thought if you fucked me while I was on my hands and knees, it might give us better odds of getting pregnant."
"Oh yeah?" I say. "You hear that's the best way to get knocked up?"
She laughs. "Honestly, no, I just want you to take me like that because it sounds so fucking hot."
I laugh, looking at her, loving her honesty. "Well, when should we start?"
She rolls over on top of me, straddling me. I begin to massage her tits. "I think now would be a good time."

MOLLY
Four weeks later…
I cover the chicken with oil, then salt and pepper, and slices of lemon. I add chopped carrots and onions and potatoes to the roasting pan, and then I slide the whole thing into the oven, knowing if it’s in there for 90 minutes, it'll be done roasting by the time Major gets home from work.
I take out lettuce and tomatoes and scallions, preparing a salad, and I mix some garlic cloves with room temperature butter and slather French bread with it, knowing that once it's toasted, it'll be exactly how Major likes it.
I wash my hands before going to the laundry room to switch the clothes to the dryer. I hum a little song to myself, feeling like I am literally floating on cloud nine. Four weeks with Major has changed my whole perception of reality. I knew what I wanted, but I never imagined getting it all so soon.
Now I smile as I walk back down the hall past two guest rooms, an office, a big rec room, and a bathroom. I've already vacuumed today, so that is done, and everything is tidied. I smile. I've always wanted to be a housewife. And now? Well, I'm exactly that.
Deciding to check the mail, I walk outside, and as I pause at the mailbox, I look across the street. It's crazy to see that ‘for sale’ sign in the front yard. I only worked there one weekend before the entire situation with Todd and Jane went to shit. They were unstable, and I got that impression the day I moved in, but it's crazy how quickly it all fell apart. Now, they're gone.
I don't know where Todd went, but Jane took the kids to Connecticut where her parents are. I'm happy for her, honestly. Maybe a fresh start is what they all need. It sounds like her parents are really excited to have the grandkids around, and Julia and Jasper were sweethearts. They just were in need of some love and attention. Maybe if their mom's not in a place to give it to them, or their father, at least Grandma and Grandpa might be able to.
In the mailbox, I see a few flyers and some junk mail and one small package, and I carry it back in the house. Twisting my lips, I realize it's from the jeweler in town. Not wanting to get my hopes up, I look at my bare ring finger then set the package aside and lie down to rest.
It's been a weird day. After Major left for work, I couldn't really keep anything down food-wise. I usually eat the same thing for breakfast—oatmeal, a banana, a few cups of coffee—but today everything made me feel nauseous. Lying down, I close my eyes, counting the days since my last...
"Oh my God," I realize, sitting upright in bed. "Oh my God." My stomach rolls, and I run to the bathroom, losing what I had for lunch in the toilet. When I finish retching, I stand and splash cold water on my face, the truth dawning on me.
My eyes widen. "Oh my God."
I raid the stash of tests that Major and I purchased the weekend I moved in. It had been a joke, really.
We'd never gone grocery shopping together, and we thought it was novel picking out the food we like, learning about one another's favorites. Discovering what we needed with our coffee, half and half for us both, and what we liked for dessert, vanilla ice cream for him, a handful of M&Ms for me.
