“No,” Tam said, voice shaking.

Driver immediately lifted away but the swirling memories tormented Tam, sucking him down into the black hole where they’d been hiding.

“I got you.”

Driver. Driver was there. He wasn’t alone.

A sweet kiss to Tam’s eyelids. “Shh, it’s okay. Ride it out,” Driver whispered into his ear right before he kissed that too.

The damage was done. He’d lost his erection.

“Sorry,” Tam said, swallowing his disappointment.

By now, Driver had returned to the safety of the floor, giving Tam his space, but the distance only made Tam’s chest ache. He wanted the closeness of before. The connection. Driver’s rough palms caressed his thighs in long calming strokes, then rose to Tam’s chest where his thumbs skimmed over Tam’s nipples.

The jolt of pleasure was so unexpected Tam hissed. Driver hummed in the back of his throat with a pleased sort of sound and satisfaction coursed through Tam’s blood.

“We’re not done yet if you don’t want to be.”

“I don’t want to be.”

“Good, because I was just getting started.” He slipped his hand into Tam’s again before descending on Tam’s semi-hard cock once again.

Only this time he didn’t stop when Tam cried out, or when Tam’s body moved with his ministrations. He licked and sucked until Tam thought he might shake apart from the pleasure of it all. His fingers had gone numb from squeezing Driver’s hand so tightly, but he didn’t care. He’d apologize later, because holy fuck.

He was about to come. Just that fast.

An orgasm boiled up from the depths of his soul. It was like a raging tsunami. A storm of desire that wouldn’t be stopped and Driver was at the head of it like some insane storm chaser or a goddamn wizard.

“Driver,” he said between breaths. “Fuck, I’m gonna... Don’t stop.” Please, God, don’t stop. Never, ever stop.

Tam slammed his eyes shut as the tempest overwhelmed him. His back came off the cushions, but Driver held his hips down and didn’t pause in his effort to give Tam everything. Not even when Tam’s body quaked and burst. No, Driver took it all like it was a gift, he devoured Tam until there was nothing left.

Tam was wrecked like a beach after a hurricane and he couldn’t have been happier.

He didn’t know how long it took him to catch his breath afterward but when the world returned from the haziness of orgasm, Driver’s head was on his chest and he was placing tender kisses across Tam’s skin. Tam couldn’t speak. Words didn’t exist for what he was feeling in that moment.

For so long he’d felt lost, even wished sometimes to completely disappear, but he was willing to admit now that what he really wanted was to be found.

Driver had found him. And by doing so, he’d made it possible for Tam to find himself.

Christ, his first orgasm had been one hell of an eye opener.

Every muscle in his body was slack and heavy, but he still lifted both his hands to touch Driver.

He had to touch him—first his shoulders, which were solid and thick, then his neck, so tense, and his hair, so soft. Everywhere Tam could reach he caressed. Every moment of contact brought him back to earth. He wasn’t dreaming. This was his reality now.

How the hell did that happen?

He stared up at the ceiling in wonder with the comforting warmth of Driver soaking through every inch of his body. Still unable to speak, silence surrounded them. The film was over. The DVD was stuck on the home screen, but it was okay. They didn’t need to talk. Some hearts understood each other even in silence.

He didn’t need to explain the tornado happening inside him because Driver already knew.

He knew.

Most people didn’t know how erotic it was to actually be understood. But Tam did. Gratitude overwhelmed all the other emotions and he couldn’t help himself. He laughed.

The sound was joyous and it echoed in the quiet living room.

He felt Driver’s answering smile and then heard his accompanying chuckle.

It was like he could breathe again. Their combined amusement wiped away so many shadows.

Long-forgotten wishes drifted through Tam’s mind like foggy visions, closer and closer with every giggle until they were bright Technicolor. Once upon a time he’d wanted the things normal people wanted. Once upon a time he’d believed in kindness and compassion and...love.

It had been a long time since such fantasies had plagued him. He’d been too busy fighting to get through every day. And in the end, he hadn’t made it out undamaged. As he lay there with the colorful dreams dancing around his newly freed sexual desires, some of those wounds began to heal.

Yeah, his whole life had been filled with darkness. But whose wasn’t? Everyone carried pain and fears from their pasts around with them. He was starting to believe that he wasn’t beyond mending.

After they’d caught their breath, Driver finally moved to sit next to Tam on the sofa. “Feel good?” he asked.
