"Now you remember," I mutter, shaking my head. I'm not mad about it. Like I said last night, fuck my rules. My goddamn rules left her hurting last night. I should have been in that bed with her. It should have been my cock she was grinding on, my tongue getting her off. Instead, I sent her home aching, so fucking horny she had to use her pillow to relieve herself.

That shit won't be happening again. When we're alone, she can break any rule she wants to break. She can push any button she wants to push. I won't stop her. She can disobey and fuck with me until her heart's content. The rules don't apply. Not with her. Not when we're alone.

But out there in the club? Her safety requires her obedience. She has to learn to rein herself in. Because I won't allow anything to happen to her. I can't allow it. Not because it's my job but because it's her. Because I'll burn this fucking club to the ground if anything happens to her.

"That didn't count!" she hisses.

"Oh, it counted, Dilemma."

"Did not. We're not in the club. We're in the foyer. There's a difference."

"That's the only reason I'm not spanking you right now," I murmur, squeezing her ass. "If we were in the club, you'd be in serious trouble right now."

She huffs at me.

"I'm serious, beautiful."

"I know, but I'm not a little girl, Bronx. Please don't treat me like I am," she says quietly. "I'm not going to do something to put myself in danger. I'm not stupid."

"Never said you were, Dilemma. But you've never been in this world before. You don't understand how it works yet. That means it's my responsibility to ensure that you're able to play and explore safely. The rules aren't meant to infantilize you. They're meant to ensure this is a safe place for you." I curve my hand around her cheek, turning her face up to mine. "It'll destroy me if something happens to you because I wasn't careful enough, Gemma."

Her expression softens, the tension in her jaw melting away. "You mean that, don't you?"

"Every fucking word."

"I'll follow the rules," she whispers.

I brush my lips across hers, grateful as hell.

"Where are we going?" She practically vibrates beside me as I lead her through the club, her hand laced with mine.

"You'll see," I say, the same thing I've said every time she's asked since we entered the club a few minutes ago. I intended to take her down to the exhibition rooms, but that was before I saw that damn dress. Now, I'm not willing to risk it. My control is already stretched thin with her.

I'm liable to kill a motherfucker for looking at her the wrong way. This girl is mine. I decided that the moment I met her. The last twenty-four hours have only reinforced that belief.

She's a dream come true in every way. Feisty, curious, sweet as hell, and sexy as sin. Part of me would kill to protect her. The other part wants to fuck her raw. They war with one another constantly, both evenly matched, both wholly focused on her.

I need her in my ropes now. Before I lose my goddamn mind.

"Bronx," she complains as we pass by the exhibition rooms. "Please tell me where we're going?"

"We're going to a place you'll see when we get there, Dilemma."

She huffs at me, a little sound of annoyance that's far too fucking cute to be anything less than adorable. Even dressed like a little devil, she's still got too much angel in her.

"Oh, I hear music," she says, drawing to a stop outside. Her gaze flits toward a door on the right. "What's this room?"

"Open it and see."

She shoots me a suspicious look and then shrugs and dances forward to pull the door open. Music spills out, along with loud moans. She pokes her head in, sees the movie playing on the screen, squeaks, and immediately pops back out, shutting the door.

"I didn't need to see that," she whispers, plastering her back against the door as if she's trying to keep monsters from chasing her out.

I laugh loudly.

"There were six of them, Bronx," she hisses. "Six! And only one of her!"

"Curiosity killed the cat, Dilemma." I tap her on the nose. "Around here, it's better not to go snooping unless you're absolutely sure you're ready to know what's on the other side of the door."

"Now he tells me," she mutters, straightening her dress.

I chuckle again, tugging her away from the door. We make it almost all the way to the end of the hall without her seeing anything else she isn't ready to see. And then the doors to the Blue Room fly open just as we pass by. A couple stumbles out.

They don't notice us, but Gemma stops dead in her tracks, staring into the room.
