“I could help,” Lark offered.

“Daddy cooks.” He helped her onto the stool and went around the counter to open cabinets. “I wonder where Avery put… Ah! Here it is!”

“I like Avery, Daddy,” Lark commented as he gathered utensils and dishes. He pulled a box out of the freezer next.

“I do, too. She mentioned she planned to go to Blaze more often. Would you like to go with your Daddy to visit the club again?”

“Could I go color and hang out with my friends?” Lark requested.

“Definitely. Do you like crayons or markers?”

“Colored pencils.”

“I’ll put that on my list to stock in your nursery. We’ll have to organize that room soon. I ordered some furniture for you. It will come next week.”

“What kind of furniture?”

“I ordered a rocking chair and a bookshelf. I thought you might like to have story time when you get home from work to help you relax. Do you like having books read to you?” Wyatt asked as he popped the mac and cheese into the microwave to heat.

“I think I’d like hearing you read a book, Daddy.”

“Then we’ll make that part of our routine. I also ordered a crib.”

“I’ll never fit into a crib.” She laughed at the thought.

“They made this one for grown Little girls. You’ll be very comfortable inside. I ordered pretty, ruffled sheets with Eeyore all over them. We can add your favorite loved Eeyore to the crib and maybe a few of your other smaller stuffies.”

Giggling, she suggested, “Maybe we can get a kitty stuffie? Since you can’t have a real kitten, you’re stuck with me and a pretend one.”

“Definitely. That would be a good addition. Little girls need stuffies to hug and tell secrets to.” The microwave dinged, and he pulled the steaming dish out. Setting it on the stove to cool slightly, Wyatt fixed each of them a glass of water.

Soon, he set the dish on a potholder and scooped a small amount on his fork before blowing on it. When she looked around for another utensil, he lifted the bite to her lips.

“Eat, kitten.”

Feeling awkward, she opened her mouth. Wyatt fed her without making a big fuss. As she chewed, he took a bite.

“Mmm! That’s pretty good, if I do say so myself.”

“It’s yummy.”

Wyatt offered her another bite, and she allowed him to feed her. This time, it didn’t feel quite so weird. His easy-going ways allowed her to try new things without feeling self-conscious. He chatted about the move and meeting the neighbors.

“That was sweet of them to send flowers.”

“Stan and Tabby will be great neighbors to have. Something clued me in that they may be more like us than you’d expect.”

“He’s a police officer?”

“He’s a Daddy.”

“No way.”

“Yes way.”

“Really?” she squeaked.

“I guess we’ll see. You’ll have to stick around to find out.”

“I don’t want to go anywhere, Daddy,” she whispered, leaning close to him.

“Right by my side, kitten. That’s where Daddy wants you to be.”

Chapter Thirteen

One week later…

“Hi, Daddy!” Lark exclaimed, walking into the beautiful house.

“Hi, kitten!” Wyatt called from deep in the house. “Come see what came today. I’m in your room.”

Lark dropped her keys and purse on the corner of the counter where her Daddy had declared all her big-girl things be stored. Stepping out of her heels, she had to admit he was right. Leaving all her professional attire by the door helped her shed her public persona and relax into her Little self. Daddy’s always right.

“What is it?” she asked, skipping into the room with her shoes hooked on her fingers. “Whoa!”

A large walnut crib filled the back wall of the nursery. It fit perfectly, as if the last owners had deliberately designed the space to accommodate the adult-sized crib. The curved slats in the railing gleamed.

“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” Wyatt asked as he walked forward to take her hand. “Let’s get you changed.”

He’d ordered several new things for her to wear when she was in her Little space, saying it wouldn’t do for her to spend her evenings wearing his shirts and boxers.

Today, after he removed her professional skirt and blouse and draped them over the edge of the rocking chair, he also unfastened and removed her bra and lowered her thong to the floor.

She shivered slightly. It was still hard for her to stand in front of him completely naked sometimes, especially when she was making this transition and her mind wasn’t fully Little yet.

She held his shoulders as he had her step into a light blue pair of panties that had Eeyore on the front. She giggled. “Where did you get those, Daddy?”

“I have my ways.” He had her step into a pair of black leggings next before finishing off her outfit with a blue T-shirt that had sparkly silver sequins all over the front. It wasn’t until she looked down and lifted the hem that she noticed what the sequins spelled. Girls Rule.
