“Yum. That’s good cheese,” she mumbled with her hand over her mouth.
“It is?” Wyatt popped the rest into his mouth and nodded. “Delicious. Let’s try this one.”
Lark nodded her approval at the taste of the next offering as she looked around. Her mind focused on decorating the house. While sampling the different combinations, Lark and Wyatt sipped their champagne.
“Will your furniture fit in this house?” she wondered out loud.
“I think so. My big leather sectional should be perfect over there. The TV will be best on that wall,” Wyatt pointed. “Where do you think a dining room table should go? Maybe I should ask this. What kind of table do you recommend?”
“You don’t have a dining room set, do you?” She thought about his rental and realized he didn’t have any dining room furniture. He didn’t have a kitchen table, either.
“I haven’t needed it.” He cupped her face and held her gaze, leaning in close. “I didn’t buy this house to live in by myself, Lark. We haven’t talked about this because I didn’t want to scare you off. This is a house designed for a Daddy and his Little girl.”
“You want me to move in here with you?” Her heart was racing at the suggestion. Sometimes, it seemed like things were moving so fast between them. Other times, it felt like it wasn’t fast enough. Moving in with him felt huge. The fact that they still hadn’t had sex felt like a snail’s pace. She was more than ready.
“I want this house to be ours, kitten. A place where we both love coming home at night—a safe location to explore our dreams and desires.”
“That sounds amazing.” Lark fidgeted before admitting, “I didn’t ever think I’d meet a man I’d want to spend my life with, let alone a Daddy. I thought relationships like ours only existed in books.” Just five minutes ago in the car she’d been worrying about whether or not Wyatt saw this relationship as seriously as she’d hoped. Apparently so.
“Fairytale romances do come true, kitten. Can you see yourself living here?”
When she nodded, he suggested, “That means we need to combine our furniture in the near future. Maybe you could bring your dining room table.” He lifted a brow, waiting for her reaction.
Lark shivered. Gathering her courage, she took the big step that seemed like a chasm between their present life together and the future. “I like my table. Maybe we could use it,” she suggested. “You don’t even have a kitchen table. Do you eat?” she teased, trying to lighten the mood.
Wyatt chuckled. “I have weird hours at work. It’s always just me at mealtimes, so I eat at my kitchen island. Or I grab something and go.”
“That’s not healthy.”
“It’s not. I need a Little girl to cook for so I can sit down at the table and relax.”
“Sounds like a Little girl would solve all your problems,” she commented nonchalantly as she took another sip from her glass.
“Having the right Little girl would definitely be the solution,” he agreed, setting his glass on the wood away from the blanket.
Leaning forward, Wyatt plucked the glass out of her hand and set it with his. “It’s a good thing I’ve already found her.”
Wyatt leaned forward to wrap a hand around the back of her head. He guided Lark’s lips to his and nibbled around the edges of her mouth to tease her. Finally, she wound her arms around his neck to pull herself closer. Lark pressed her mouth fully against his before opening her lips to invite him in.
With a groan, Wyatt lifted her onto his lap. His mouth devoured hers and she responded with equal passion. During the long days after her spanking and the pleasure he had lavished on her, Lark had walked a tightrope of desire. The unknown stretched below her, but it no longer scared Lark. She wanted to experience those sensations again, but this time she wanted him to enjoy them as well.
“Make love to me, Daddy,” she whispered.
“Hold on.” Wyatt lifted her further to rest over his shoulder. Athletically, he rose to his feet, carrying her weight as if she were lighter than air. Patting her bottom to reassure her, Wyatt walked down the hallway to the master bedroom. There, he set her feet on the floor.
Lark looked past him to see an inflated air mattress. Its motor whirled softly in the empty room.
“You planned this?”
“I planned to sleep here tonight. I hoped you’d decide to join me.”
Her Daddy wrapped his arms around her waist. “Kitten, are you ready to take this big step? Would you like to make love with me?”
“If I mess up…”
“That’s not going to happen. This isn’t a right or wrong process. It’s us being intimate. Do you trust me?”
Lark nodded. “More than anyone ever.”
Wyatt stroked a hand up her spine, making Lark shiver in delight. She loved his touch. Those powerful hands created sparks as they moved over her body. He captured her mouth to kiss her as he unzipped the back of her dress slowly. Cool air flowed over her skin, making Lark snuggle closer to Wyatt. He stroked a hand over her bare flesh and heat replaced the chill.
