“Okay then.” Mercy took a quick glance down his line of men. “While you all are doing that, we’re going to quietly take out the men. Depending how many there are—and will get that count during the next couple of days—we’ll drag them into the buildings where we’ll set it up to look like they were building and storing pipe bombs and other homemade explosives. This way there’s nothing left of them after the detonation. All evidence will be scattered.”

“What little’s left of them will be scattered and splattered,” Hunter said without an ounce of humor.

“Yeah, there isn’t going to be much left once we’re done,” Steel added. “Which is why we’re doing it the way we are.”

Mercy slowly scanned the room again, his piercing gray eyes touching on each one of them. “Once you all clear the mountain and we detonate the explosives, we’ll ghost. You won’t see us again. This is one and done. Any of you get caught up there when you should’ve been clear, that’s on you. That means make sure you stick to the timeline. There won’t be a lot of wiggle room.”

“Rest in fucking pieces,” Hunter muttered.

“Ain’t a way you want to die,” Steel added. “There won’t be enough of you left to scrape together for a funeral.”

“We’ll meet up again one last time early Saturday.” Mercy shot Trip a look. “In a different location. Then once it’s dark, it’ll be go time. Just want to be clear… Once it’s go time, there won’t be any stopping it because we’re going to make sure there isn’t any evidence left that we were ever up that mountain. And there’s only one way to do that.”

Whip just needed to be sure to be off that mountain before it went kaboom.

They all did.

“Are you sure I’m dressed okay? You never said where your mom’s taking us.”

“Just a casual place in Mansfield. She knows we’re comin’ on my sled so expects us to be dressed for that.” He didn’t need an excuse to check out Fallon, so he did so. “You look gorgeous, babe. I’d rather eat you than dinner.” No lie.

Her lips curved into a smile before he shut her motel room door behind them and ensured it was locked.

“Your sled or mine?” she asked. When he turned back to her, she had her key fob hanging in the air from her fingertip.

“You know if we take that, you’re my backpack, right? I ain’t yours.”

She rolled her eyes teasingly and sighed. “I figured that. Can’t have a woman driving around a big, bad biker.”

He wasn’t sure how big and bad he was, but he’d take that as a compliment. “Yeah, ain’t gonna happen.”

She shrugged. “I’m fine with you driving. Agnes is more comfortable than your ride.”

Because it was practically brand new. Even better, it had all the fucking bells and whistles, while his Harley was older and basic.

“Think we need to do a threesome with Agnes,” he said as he leaned in, planted his lips on Fallon’s and snagged the fob from her fingers at the same time.

When he went to straighten, she snaked a hand into the opening of his cut and grabbed his T-shirt, holding him there while deepening the kiss. When she finally pulled back slightly, she murmured against his lips. “Is it crazy that I can’t get enough of you?”

He grinned against her lips. “Same, babe.” It was so damn true and he wasn’t afraid to admit it.

His birthday was tomorrow and he figured she’d leave afterward on Friday morning, even though she hadn’t mentioned it yet. He was expecting her announcement after tonight’s dinner with his mother.

Or maybe after they fucked later.

The second they got their negative results from the lab, they’d ditched the wraps and gone hog wild. It could be a mental thing but, not only did it feel a thousand times better, it seemed to strengthen the connection between them.

Maybe it was because Fallon was the first woman he’d ever fucked without a wrap and yeah… He’d miss it once she checked out and hit the road again.

Fuck, in truth, he’d miss her.

If he had to, he’d admit that out loud, too.

A noise at the other end of the motel had them separating and glancing that way. Two of the Shadows came out of a room at the far end of the motel and were climbing into some non-descript four-door cage. Whip had no fucking clue where they were going and pretended he didn’t know them as was instructed.

Hell, they could be going out to grab food, to go shopping, or slice some throats for shits and giggles.

He glanced down at Fallon to see her staring at them. “Have you seen those guys?” she whispered, the awe unmistakable in her voice.

For fuck’s sake.

“There are six of them.”

He decided to play dumb. “What guys?”
