This was the last time they were having sex.

That meant they needed to make it count.

“At the rate we’re going, I’m just going to lie here and watch you masturbate.”

He continued to slowly stroke his cock. “That turn you on?”

She watched his fist slide back and forth for a few more seconds. Yes, it did. Knowing he was hard for her, knowing he wanted her even though she represented something he hated, knowing his being there with her risked his status with his brotherhood, turned her on. “Yes,” she breathed.

He immediately dropped his hand, and she rolled her eyes.

“You’re such a jerk.”

His lips curved into a crooked grin.

As she opened her mouth to tell him to either get on her bed or get out of her apartment, he suddenly moved. He tackled her, shoving his hips between her thighs, grabbing her wrists, but before he could settle in, before he could slide inside her, she moved, flipping him over so she was on top.

As she tried to mount him, she quickly found herself on her back again. With a grunt, she used all her weight to roll him, so she was once again on top.

With a growl, she was flipped back to the bottom.

All they needed was some cherry Jell-O or warm baby oil and they could start their very own wrestling routine.

“Stay there,” he growled, as he used his weight to pin her down.

“I thought men liked when women were on top,” she stated, sounding a little out of breath. Okay, more like a bit. He might not be huge, but he was solid, strong and heavier than he looked.

“Like it when I want it. Right now, want this.”

This man did not like giving up control that easily. Admittedly, she also liked that in a man. One who could be as demanding as she was. If a man tried to control her outside of the bedroom, it wouldn’t fly with her, but inside…? She could make some concessions.

Especially, if they knew what they were doing.

Rook knew what he was doing and did it well.

Not that it would matter after this last time…

His murmured, “It’s gone,” drew her out of her own fairy tale.

His erection was pressed to the inside of her thigh, the precum at the end leaving a trail of silky fluid on her skin. His hands were planted in the mattress on either side of her head and his hips were pinning hers to the bed.

With his face only a few inches above hers, she blinked up at him. “What?”

“My bite on your neck.”

Not the bite, but my bite.

Her fingers automatically went to that spot. Every day in the mirror she had watched his bite slowly disappear. Every day she’d had to cover the mark before leaving her apartment, going to work, to the grocery store or to spend time with her family.

Because a bruise like that would raise questions. Maybe even concerns.

Obviously, how she got it needed to remain a secret.

But throughout her shifts at work, she’d catch herself sliding a couple fingers under the high-necked shirt she was forced to wear to touch it. Remembering. Immediately, her nipples would peak, her breath would shudder and her pussy would clench.

Every damn time.

But, yes, it was now gone.

Shifting all his weight into one hand, he used the knuckles of the other to caress her skin where the bite had been.

He remembered exactly where it had been.

Exactly.

She hadn’t forgotten, either. “So?”

His gaze lifted from where he touched her neck and it locked with hers. Then his hand continued on a path to her breasts where he squeezed each one and thumbed the tips of her nipples. “Gone there, too.”

“They weren’t tattoos. They don’t last forever.”

“Made you think of me.”

Holy shit. He sounded so proud of himself! “Why would you care if I thought of you?”

“Wouldn’t. Hope they pissed you off,” he grumbled.

He was lying. She could read it in his face, so she lied, too. “They were a good reminder of that mistake and what—or who—to avoid in the future.”

“Yeah, but here we are.”

“Here you are. Uninvited, once again.”

“Don’t want me here,” he said.

“It’s not smart.”

“No one ever said I was smart.”

No, but he certainly wasn’t unintelligent. Some of his actions in his past might be considered stupid, but he knew full well what he’d been doing when he did them and the consequences of those actions.

He simply did them anyway.

Being arrogant and stubborn wasn’t being stupid. Though, some might classify it as such because it was easier to do so than try to figure out the real reasoning behind those questionable actions.

“Well, if you can refrain from marking me up again, I’d appreciate it.” Another lie. Deep down, she wanted nothing more. “I’d also appreciate it if we could move this along at a much quicker pace, since I have to get some sleep before dealing with my family later.”
