“I’m still breathing,” she answered.

“Ain’t funny.”

“But true.”

“You’ll be breathin’ hard soon enough,” he assured her.

“You sound pretty damn confident of that,” she teased.

“I’m a cocky asshole, remember? Of fuckin’ course, I’m confident of my skills.”

She snorted and massaged his aching balls. He might be the one breathing hard if they didn’t move this elsewhere soon.

He pulled her away from the wall and smacked her ass hard. “Want you in bed, naked, legs spread apart, fingering yourself. Like five minutes ago.”

Her breath stuttered and heat filled her face and eyes.

Her, “I need to put my weapon and badge in the safe first,” came out breathless.

Fuck. Yeah.

She was probably already wet, too.

He jerked his head to where she’d placed them by the front door. “Then go. We only got a coupla hours before we all meet for the club run.”

“I had hoped to get in a catnap beforehand, too. So, how about we compromise and do a quickie, then I take a nap.”

“How many orgasms you want?”

She pursed her lips in thought. “Three.”

“Three with a quickie? Damn, woman, then we gotta hurry. Get your shit taken care of and get in bed like I told you.”

She gave him a huge smile and hurried back into the living room.

As she carried her stuff to the closet in the hallway where she secured her guns and badge, he muttered, “If we ever have fuckin’ kids they ain’t becomin’ pigs like the rest of your family. Tellin’ you that right now.”

With her head tucked inside the closet as she opened the safe, he heard, “They’ll be whoever they want to be. We’ll let them decide who they are.”

“Sure. Except for pigs. And thank fuck they won’t have that Bryson name.”

“There’s nothing wrong with my last name. I have a great family.”

Now was not the time to get into that argument. Not if he wanted to get laid this morning.

And then fuck her in the shower.

Then fuck her again after the club run and pig roast later.

Then maybe in the middle of the night, too.

The rough and tumble fucks they had were the best. But the slow and sleepy fucks were almost just as good.

Hell, just being inside her anytime was good. Hearing his name on her lips while she soaked his balls was even better.

She pulled her head from the closet and straightened. “Shit. That reminds me… My parents invited us over for dinner next weekend.”

Well, that was enough to make his hard-on die a quick death. “Us?”

She closed the closet door and turned to him. “I’m pretty sure I said us.”

“Since I don’t got time to spank your ass durin’ our quickie, was plannin’ on it later. Now I’m rethinkin’ that.”

She laughed and shoved his arm. “Yes, us. You. Me. Them. My mom’s cooking.”

He frowned and drew his thumbnail across his forehead. “Just them?”

“Well... and Teddy.”

Rook cocked an eyebrow and waited. He knew her only too well by now.

“And Adam,” she added softly with hope in her eyes.

He didn’t want to fucking disappoint her. He never wanted to disappoint her. Even if he had to swallow some of his hatred for the men in blue. He might have to make an exception for some of the Brysons. Maybe.

He’d see.

“Your brother know I’m gonna be there?”

Her eyes went wide. “You’re going to come with me?”

He frowned. “Ain’t that why you fuckin’ mentioned it?”

She planted her hand on his chest. “I want you to do whatever you’re comfortable with. They’ll understand if you don’t come to dinner and I don’t want to force you into it. I also don’t want it to cause tension between the people I love.”

“Can’t promise there won’t be tension, darlin’.” The only good thing about her family was none of them had ever fucked him over. At least not yet. He could do his best to be civil with them if they returned the favor. However, he’d do it for her and only her.

But the second they disrespected him? All bets were off.

He wouldn’t be treated as less of a person than Jet. Not by anyone.

He also wouldn’t let Jet be treated less than him. Again, not by anyone.

Including a fuckwad prospect who was skating on thin ice with him and a couple of other Fury members.

Even though he’d had a serious sit-down with Scar after that night at The Barn, Rook continued to keep a sharp eye on him. The man still had a long way to go for Rook to ever trust him again. Or for him to prove himself.

Time would tell whether Scar would pass a vote to become a fully-patched Fury member. In the meantime…

“Your pop gonna ride my ass about your decision?” If so, that would ruin any good food her mother made. And he’d tasted some of her leftovers Jet had brought home. The woman could cook.
