“Been thinkin’,” he continued.

She paused.

“Thinkin’ I’d like to get your band on a regular rotation. Got a few bands already that play once a month. We could do the same for The Synners. You up for that?”

Did that sound like a desperate attempt to keep her from disappearing completely?

It really wasn’t. The truth was, they were a better band then they’d had in a while. And none of the lead singers of their regular bookings were even close to being as good as Syn.

“We need to head south.”

For fuck’s sake, it wasn’t just about the band. “Yeah, get that. Maybe once it warms up a bit. Or you get better heat.” Or we find out that Sig is actually your brother.

He had kept that possibility to himself since he wasn’t sure what to do with that information yet.

It took a bit after she mentioned her brother’s name for his mind to stop spinning. The only reason it did was because of that fourth round of sex. A record for him and definitely a record for her.

Once exhaustion took over and dragged him under, his brain had finally shut off. Now he was awake, even though it was way too soon, he needed to seriously consider that possibility.

He should tell her.

But he was on the fence. He owed his loyalty to Sig first. His loyalty to his club and his brothers would always remain at the top of his list. It was why he had no problem getting the club colors inked onto his back permanently.

Proof of his loyalty. Proof that he finally belonged somewhere with people who actually fucking cared about him. Loyalty ran both directions.

While she wanted to find her brother, did her brother want to find her? Or did he disappear out of her life for good reason?

Dodge couldn’t imagine what that reason could be. But it was Sig and…

Yeah, enough said.

If she had mentioned any of his brothers other than Sig, then he might be approaching this possible situation differently. Besides the little she told him, Dodge didn’t know the complete story, or even the backstory.

It would be smart to run this possibility by the VP first and it would also be the right thing to do. Then, it would be up to Sig to figure out the next step if it turned out they were siblings.

Syn had been an infant when her brother took her from their mother and handed her off to, Dodge assumed, people who were not family. Because of that, he guessed her brother hadn’t told her everything.

But Dodge really wanted her number. Not only selfishly for himself, but so he could give it to Sig, this way the VP could be the one to reach out.

Sig wasn’t a popular name, but there had to be more than one out there in the world. It could just be coincidence that his brother and hers happened to have the same name.

His gut instinct was telling him otherwise, but he told his gut to shut the fuck up. He would let his brain handle it, instead. Probably a mistake but he’d made a shitload of mistakes in his life. What was one more?

Though, this one might be a big one. If she was Sig’s sister and Sig found out Dodge fucked her… Hell, fucked her on the pool table in Pete’s…

Yeah. He wasn’t sure how that would go over. Although, he had a pretty good idea.

One step off a crumbling cliff at a time. Go to Sig, ask him about Syn, then…

Deal with it from there.

It might end up being nothing.

Or it might end up being a fucking problem. Especially with Sig’s trigger temper.

He should probably run it by Trip first. Or at least have Trip with him since they were half-brothers. Hell, maybe even Red nearby. Just in case…

“Maybe once it warms up,” Syn finally said, bringing him back to their conversation.

He grabbed his cell phone off the nightstand and pressed the power button to wake it up. “Give me your number. Gonna check the schedule and let you know what spots I got open after March.”

She glanced down at the phone in her hand for a second, like she had forgotten she was holding it, then glanced up. What she didn’t do was rattle off her number.

Fuck. Here she was getting difficult again.

Was she afraid he’d stalk her? Or harass her or something?

He sighed.

He got plenty of pussy, he didn’t need to chase it. Even someone like Syn.

But if she wasn’t comfortable, he’d have to respect that and also accept it. Even if it did aggravate him a bit.

He leaned over the side of the bed, snagged his discarded jeans off the floor and pulled out his wallet.

“Will give you mine, then.” He dug out a business card for the bar. “You can call me when you guys are ready to head back to this area. I’ll make a spot for you.”
