“And you said I had stamina,” Grey said as he slowly got to his feet. Now that he wasn’t caught up in a blowjob, he noticed the cold air against his wet skin, and he shivered.

“Let’s get the rest of this oil off. We won’t be fucking anymore anytime soon.”

“Yeah, I think I’ve come enough. For a while anyway.” He grinned, turned the water back on, and reached for the soap. Once done, he grabbed towels he kept on a shelf over the toilet. He handed one to Cort and listened as the man ran the towel over his body. Grey dried himself slowly, feeling lazy now. Lazy and completely satisfied. Sex with Cort blew his mind and now, well, now he just wanted to freaking cuddle the man.

They stepped out of the tub.

“Come into the bedroom with me, and I’ll get you something to wear.”

“My clothes are still here. I’ll just grab some more sweat pants. I suppose we should go to the main house and help clean up. But I think we’ll wait just a few minutes more.”

“Oh, yeah? For what?” Grey asked as he slipped on a pair of boxers.

“For this.” Cort wrapped his arms around Grey and fell onto the bed. “Post-coital hugs. I’m big on them.”

Grey chuckled and hugged Cort to his side. They lay there, wrapped around each other, and Grey closed his eyes and just felt that warm body along his. He could do post-coital hugs and in fact, liked them himself. “You feeling better now? Not as angry?”

“I’m still pissed that a bunch of guys came in and shot the place up. Still pissed you tried to send me upstairs with Wiley, but I’m too damn relaxed to be that worked up over it now.”

Grey stroked a hand down Cort’s bare chest. “The best way to calm you is sex, then. Good to know.”

“Great sex.” Cort nuzzled Grey’s temple.

“Well, I’ll do my best.”

“Don’t think it could get any better than what we just did.”

Grey smiled, resting his hand over Cort’s beating heart. “No, I don’t think it could.” It was true. That had been the best sex of his life. He didn’t know if it had to do with nearly dying, but he had a strong feeling it had more to do with who he’d been having sex with. He and Cort had a deep connection that felt pretty damn strong. Even now, lying here with him felt good…felt right. Grey ran his palm up to Cort’s shoulder, feeling the muscle and bone beneath his fingers.

He thought about how touching Cort had opened him up to more while they’d been under attack and couldn’t help but wonder.

Could Cort be his soul mate?

Chapter 15

Grey concentrated on the sound of Cort’s steady breathing and the feel of his heart beating against his chest. His long body felt loose along Grey’s, and he suspected the man might be crashing after their adventure in the kitchen. Add in a couple of orgasms, and the poor guy was primed for a nice midmorning nap.

Then why was he wide awake?

Oh, it might be because he was stretched out in bed with a sexy man in his arms. He might not have been able to see Cort, but he knew he was beautiful. He could feel it in the guy’s soul. There was such warmth and kindness in him. Cort’s every act was to help someone, whether it was a patient or some average person he’d never met before. He willingly walked into danger time and again to help others, with no concern for himself. To Grey, that made him the most beautiful person on the planet.

So, what the hell was he doing with Grey?

This…all of this was a huge surprise. He certainly hadn’t planned on it. It wasn’t that long ago that he’d wanted to strangle Cort for all his pushing and prodding. Most of that was due to him being a grumpy ass who wanted to wallow in his misery, while Cort was an easy target.

And Cort allowed Grey to target him with his anger and frustration. He put up with all of Grey’s bitching and moaning. He believed in Grey.

The friendship had been the easy part. Cort was an easygoing, friendly guy with a compliment or a laugh always ready. He couldn’t imagine anyone not liking Cort. And if someone didn’t, then Grey was more than happy to try knocking some sense into the asshole.

But what he was feeling now for Cort was far more complicated than friendship. He wasn’t just protective of the man. He knew he was becoming overprotective when it came to Cort. The man in his arms needed to be safe at all times, even if it meant Grey walking around with a goddamn club everywhere.

Lovely.

He was turning into a caveman, which was even more laughable considering that he was blind. Yes, he was going to be great protection for Cort.
