“Hard to get?” Marvin asked.
“You know, the ones that think they’re better than you. Who look down at you and treat you like you don’t matter. Watching them squirm. There is a real reward in that.”
“And you’ve had experience with this kind of thing?” Logan asked, intrigued.
“I have. They’re all designed to take a cock, and it’s their place. I don’t have any room in my life for prim and prissy. The key is to teach them what they got to have, not what they think they should. It’s where you’re going wrong with your little captive, Logan. You’re not the one in control—she is. But then, I think she always has been when it comes to you.”
Chapter Five
Thirteen years ago
Licking her ice cream cone, Ava walked across the street, passing a darkened alley as she made her way home. Crow Valley at nine o’clock at night was just as safe as if it was seven o’clock in the morning or even lunchtime. The crime rate was low. In fact, the only real danger came in when it was around Halloween and a couple of kids fancied themselves a pumpkin. They’d go out to Old Ford’s field and take the biggest one they could find. No one ever found the culprit, but it was known roughly who did it.
Crime just wasn’t a big deal.
Just as she rounded a corner, she came to a stop when she saw Luke, Riley, Marvin, and Logan all heading her way. Even though they weren’t seniors yet, they were still the most popular kids in school. Rather than cower and run, she tried to cross the street. It didn’t work to avoid them, as they followed her, still heading toward her.
She stopped, and so did they.
This was pointless.
“What do you want?” she asked.
“Your ice cream,” Luke said.
Stepping up to them, she handed them the ice cream. Vanilla wasn’t her favorite anyway. She wanted to get home without having to deal with them.
Luke took the ice cream, and before she knew what was happening, he’d pressed it against her chest.
She cried out as the cold sank beneath the fabric of her shirt.
“What are you doing?”
“I don’t want anything your mouth has been around, and let’s face it, you don’t need the extra fat.” He grabbed her hard and shoved her against Logan, who captured her. His grip was firm, almost to the point of pain. She tried to wriggle free, but he wouldn’t let her go. He held onto her, and she watched as Luke smirked.
“Lift her shirt up,” Luke said. “Let’s see if her tits are really that big or they’re just fat.”
Logan didn’t make a move to lift up her shirt.
“Nah, I don’t want to see a fat girl’s tits tonight. Frankly, I’m bored, and I’m in the mood for ice cream.” Logan shoved her to the ground, stepping over her.
Within seconds, they were gone, and she was shaking.
Getting to her feet, she walked as fast as she could to her home.
Letting herself inside, she collapsed against the door, hand to her chest, trying to catch her breath.
“Everything okay, sweetie?” her mother asked, coming out of the kitchen carrying a large bowl of popcorn.
She nodded her head. There was no point in scaring her. “Yes, of course. Nothing to worry about.”
“You want to join us for the movie?”
“Yes.” She would gladly do anything that didn’t involve her remembering her encounter with Luke. Each time she was in his company with his three other friends, he always had a reason to try to get her naked, and it scared her. “I’ve just got to go and change my shirt.”

Present day
Luke was there in the house somewhere. Panic flooded every single part of Ava as she held the blanket against her body. She’d just had sex with Logan as well.
What the hell was wrong with her?
He was her captor, the very reason she couldn’t leave town, and she’d enjoyed the sex. She hadn’t achieved an orgasm, but it had been very close. Pushing her hair out of her face, she stared across the room.
What were they doing right now? What was Luke trying to convince Logan to do to her?
She didn’t want to even think about it. There had to be a way to leave.
Her bedroom door opened, and she sat up, keeping the blanket to her chin. It wouldn’t protect her. She was no match for any of these men. Hunter entered the room, carrying clothes.
He closed the door behind her and stared at her. Was that guilt she detected in his gaze?
“Clothes for you to wear,” he said.
“So I’ve finally earned them?”
“Logan did tell you you’d be rewarded for good behavior.”
“Then tell me how I get out of here?” she asked. “What exactly do I have to do to be free?”
Hunter stared at her. He didn’t answer her. Rather than look away, he kept on watching her.
