“I needed the cash,” Stefano murmurs. “I had no choice.”

“There’s always a choice,” I say. “You come to me, you go to your brothers, Mom, Dad, anyone. You don’t steal from a biker club.”

“Let them punish me, Evelina. I did what I did, let it happen.”

I turn to Riggs. “Why did you call me here? Why did you bring me around when you know damn well there is nothing I can do? Are you getting off on this? Is this some part of your big plan to get rid of me? You want me gone so badly you’d hurt my family? Fine, I’ll fucking leave, just let him go.”

Riggs stares at me, eyes narrowed and slightly confused. “I told you because it’s your family and you have the right to know.”

“That you’re going to hurt him?” I scream, throwing my hands up. “What good will that do me? I can’t do anything to stop it. You wouldn’t let me even if I could. You’re out to get me and you’ve won, okay? You’ve won. Let him go and I’ll leave. I’ll close my damned shop and leave. I swear it.”

“Eve!” Stefan yells. “No.”

I look to him and finally, finally the tears I’ve been holding onto explode, and I start to cry. I rarely cry, and my brother knows this. His face drops and he jerks on his restraints.

I look to Riggs. “I’ll leave. I’m done. You win. You’re going to bring me down until I have nothing left. I should never have started this war with you. I never thought you’d hurt me like you are. I didn’t light this place on fire, I wouldn’t risk a life like that. You made sure I went down for it, though. Now my business is tarnished and people think that’s who I am. You’ve ruined me enough, leave my brother out of it.”

I let out a broken sob and then turn, rushing out.

I need air.

I can’t breathe.

I run outside and it’s pouring with rain. I reach the large industrial bins and slam my fists onto them, over and over. The rain soaks me in seconds, and I scream with frustration. I can’t take anymore. It was fun before, but not Riggs is making sure I suffer, and I don’t know what to do about it.

“Hey.”

Someone grabs my arm and swings me around. It’s Riggs, he’s standing in the rain, soaking wet, staring at me with eyes that have lost their rage, and are now replaced with genuine concern.

“You didn’t do it?” he asks.

“I didn’t do it!” I scream, grabbing hold of my fist as it aches from the tantrum I just threw on the bin. “I would never risk anyone’s life like that, I swear to god, Riggs. I didn’t light that place up.”

“Fuck,” he mutters under his breath. “Fuck.”

“You honestly think that’s the kind of person I am?” I cry over the loud rain.

“I don’t fuckin’ know who you are! We’ve done nothin’ but argue and fight.”

“You wouldn’t let me in!” I yell. “You refused. We could have ended all of this. We were having fun and you flipped a switch because you were scared.”

“I’m not fuckin’ scared!” he barks.

“You are scared. Scared you might actually like me. You’re damaged and broken because of the last woman, but I’m not her, Riggs. I’m a god damned good person, and I don’t deserve what you’re doing to me right now.”

“Fuck!” he bellows into the rain, fists clenched. “Why you gotta do this to me?”

“Do what?” I scream.

“Drive me fuckin’ crazy. I can’t get you out of my head.”

I stare at him, rain dripping down my face. “Then stop trying.”

We both lunge at the same time, bodies smashing together. He catches me and within seconds my back is against the large bin that’s taller than me. It’s probably gross, and I should care, but fuck me I don’t, I don’t care about a single thing except him right now. I curl my fingers into his hair and I kiss him. I kiss him until I have to pull away and gasp for a breath.

He lifts me up, legs around his waist, ass in his hands, and he walks me to a cleaner location. A tree. We’re still soaking wet and the rain isn’t easing up, but I don’t care. It’s dark and nobody can see us.

We’re frantic as we tear at each other’s clothes, desperate to feel something, anything.

My pants are gone in seconds and his cock is free.

Then we’re fucking.

Raw and brutal, the rain smashing against our skin. The sounds of our pleasure rolling through the night. I’m screaming, Riggs is moaning, and he’s fucking me with a force that I can’t escape. I cum multiple times from arousal alone and my fingernails dig into any pieces of exposed flesh I can find. I’ll have bruises on my ass by the time he’s done with me, and I don’t care.
