“Love you guys,” I whisper right as the music begins. Zac is playing a wedding melody on his guitar. I love that we’re getting married outside of our home. These years we’ve spent at the farm have been the happiest of my life, and I know I have so many more to look forward to with Greer.

He nods to the boys when they present me and takes my hands in his as they go to stand up with the other groomsmen. He wanted them right alongside his brothers. He calls Chase and Parker his “bonus brothers” and treats them just like he does his own.

We repeat our vows to each other then he kisses me. The cowboy who barged into my life one day and insisted he was marrying me was right. We are meant to be together.

“I love you,” he whispers as we’re announced as husband and wife.

“I love you, too, bossy,” I say with a giggle.

He growls under his breath, the way he always does when I call him bossy. Saying that word usually ends with me writhing underneath him as he pleasures me again and again. “You know what happens when you say that.”

“Oh, I’m counting on it,” I tell him as I walk through the tall grass toward the tables where our wedding cake has been set up. Greer has built a covered pavilion, and it doubles as our reception hall today.

Our reception is informal, a little gathering where we cut the cake and Greer’s family takes turns toasting our nuptials.

The first dance has me pressing up against my husband’s body.

“We’re having BBQ for the meal,” I tell him. Greer left just about every decision for the wedding to me. The only thing he wanted was to slide a wedding band on my finger, so I chose the food. Cowboys love their BBQ, and it turns out that my husband’s family has the recipe for the best homemade sauce I’ve ever tasted.

He makes a hum of contentment. His arms are wrapped around me, and I feel the same rush of safety I felt the day he picked me up and carried me during my asthma attack.

“You know, I picked the meal on purpose. BBQ would stain my dress. No one will even blink if I were to go inside and change right now.”

He chuckles. “My wife is a very smart woman.”

“And very horny,” I whisper just as the last notes of the song fade. More couples join us on the dance floor, but we only make it through one more song before I drag him back into the house.

The moment we’re inside, I’m fumbling with the lock as he presses kisses to every area of my exposed skin. “Fuck, you look so damn beautiful today. Can’t believe you married me.”

I tug at his suitcoat, and he strips it off. His dress shirt is next until he’s only in his cotton undershirt. I love my man in a suit, but there’s just something about seeing my bearded cowboy in his white muscle shirt. It shows off his tattooed arms and his corded muscles.

“Help me out of this dress,” I demand, desperately needing skin-to-skin contact with my husband. I didn’t realize just how much it would turn me on to be able to call him that. If I had, we wouldn’t have waited a whole year to get married.

He turns me around, using his strength to move my body. I love that he can just pick me up and move me whenever he wants. He starts working with the tiny pearl buttons on the back of my dress.

“Who decided on all these damn buttons?” I grump.

He chuckles and presses a soft kiss to the back of my neck. “For me, it feels like I’m unwrapping the best gift of my life.”

My heart melts at his words, and I let him get back to working on the buttons. After a beat of silence, I say, “There’s a gift I want today too.”

“Believe me, I’m trying to make that happen,” he promises.

I chuckle, despite the serious topic. Maybe it’s better this way, better that I can’t see his expression. “I want to throw away my birth control pills.”

He continues working with the buttons. “Do you want to try an implant?”

“I want to try no birth control at all.”

His fingers still. I can’t feel him moving behind me. I can’t even hear him breathing. I squeeze my eyes shut. “Maybe I picked a bad time to have this conversation.”

His hands go to my shoulders, and he spins me around to face him. His gaze searches my expression. The look of hope on his face fills me with happiness.

I wanted to wait to try for kids until after I finished my degree. Despite wanting a big family, Greer was completely on board. He said we’d have kids when the time was right, and there would never be any pressure. “There’s no bad time to have a conversation between us. What are you thinking about?”
