At least those two women knew what the hell they were doing. They also did it well. Both wore smiles, were super friendly and flirty, and knew how to swing their hips as they made their way around the large room. Not like the current act on stage, now stripped down to her thong and moving around the stage and pole like a short-circuiting robot.

Once those three remaining dancers were run off because a lack of tips, the club might as well close. It would no longer be a good business to launder drug money because hardly any cash would be coming in. And they would be hard pressed to keep it open only to sell drugs.

The Demons now owned plenty of other businesses to do that from.

Rez agreed with Sapphire. Mel needed to open her own club in the area and do it soon. Not only would she be raking in the dough, she’d be helping out the local economy.

And making some men much happier than the sad saps in the seats tonight.

He needed to have a little sit down with Finn to see if some of them could get together to help make that happen sooner than later. He did not like the fact that Sapphire remained under Saint’s thumb.

It might not be his call, but that didn’t mean he didn’t have an opinion. And, of course, he wasn’t afraid to share it.

Since he didn’t see Sapphire anywhere, he went directly to the bar where Mutt looked bored out of his gourd because of the light crowd tonight.

“What’s going on?” Rez asked the Demons prospect when he reached it.

“What d’ya need?”

Sapphire naked and squirming underneath him. “Gimme a bottle of Corona.” That should be safe enough.

“Wanna lime with that?”

He glanced at where Mutt was pointing. The lime wedges were so dried out they looked petrified. “Nope. Take it without.”

With a nod, Mutt headed toward the cooler tucked under the far end of the bar. Rez turned around and leaned back, planting both elbows onto the scratched wood top behind him. Someone was definitely not keeping up with maintenance.

And that someone was headed in his direction.

Great.

The DiC—Demon in charge—stopped directly in front of Rez. “Whataya doin’ here?”

Mutt stepped behind Rez and set the beer down near his elbow. “Thanks. Will settle up with you in a few.” He turned his attention back to Saint and tipped his head toward the bottle. “One, to get a beer.” He struggled not to roll his eyes at the next reason. “Two, to watch your highly-skilled, enthusiastic dancers. Three, to buy some cotton candy. My sweet tooth is aching.” He slid the pad of his thumb along the side of his nose.

Saint’s expression was stony. Cold, hard and very unwelcoming. Not a good look for someone running an adult “entertainment” club. “Got the scratch for all that?”

“Got enough to get me through tonight,” Rez answered. “I’m hoping for more jobs to come in this week. Once they do, I’ll be back in for more.”

Saint tipped his head and stared at him for longer than normally comfortable. If the asshole thought he appeared intimidating…

Without taking his eyes off the biker in front of him, Rez grabbed his beer and raised it in Saint’s direction before tipping it to his lips. He took his time chugging half of the cold brew before setting it back on the bar top.

Still, he waited.

When the man didn’t move or say anything further, Rez said, “You’re blocking my view, Saint. Paid five bucks for that.” Not that he really wanted to watch the dancer on stage. “When will you get to the point of hiring retired strippers from the old folks’ home?”

“You don’t like it, you don’t have to fuckin’ come in here. Plenty of other strip clubs in this corner of the fuckin’ state.”

There wasn’t really. A few here and there depending on local zoning. However, one in the Dirty Angels territory was both owned and run by that MC. Rez had never been to Heaven’s Angels Gentlemen’s Club, but was damn sure it had to be a fuckton better than this one.

“You’re right, there is. Ain’t offering what you’re offering, though.”

“Long as you got the scratch, Mutt will handle what you need.”

The man gave Rez his back, causing his eyes to land on the DDMC patches. He did his best not to sneer at Saint’s retreating back. The biker only got a few steps away before he stopped.

No one called out to him. No one blocked his path. He just fucking stopped.

A few seconds later, he spun on his biker boot heel and strode back to Rez.

Fuck.

Rez stood straighter and pulled his shoulders back, bending his knees slightly and curling his fingers into loose fists. He was ready for whatever Saint was about to fucking do.

If he swung, it was on. Rez wouldn’t hold back on giving that asshole a beat down. He wasn’t a bitch and this dirty-ass biker wasn’t going to make him one, either.
