He set down the empty bottle at his feet and twisted toward her. “What expectations do you have?”

“Besides a few orgasms and you taking down the Demons? Not much.”

“Oof,” he echoed her.

“Well, you asked. I love sex, but I don’t need a commitment to have it.”

“I’m not sure I’ve run across a woman with that mindset before.”

“Then you’re not looking in the right places. Plenty of us exist who don’t mind having no-strings-attached sex.”

“Is there a secret club you all belong to? If so, please let me know the name of it and how I can get in the door.”

Her lips twitched. “Of course there is. It even has a secret handshake.” She held out her hand to him and he enveloped it in his much larger one.

Instead of shaking it, he lifted it to his mouth and brushed his soft lips across her knuckles. He studied her for a few seconds before saying, “I’ll take the upstairs tour now, Mel.”

Him sweeping his thumb back and forth over her inner wrist, along with the deep rumble of his voice holding promises of what was to come next, shot a shock of lightning down her spine. Her nipples instantly pebbled in response.

Funny how she suddenly found a spurt of energy.

“Then, let’s go in,” she suggested, unfolding her legs and sitting up.

Without releasing her hand, he rose and helped her to her feet.

Finn glanced around the open loft that, like the stairs, had an open cable railing along the edge. Apparently, Mel must not have a fear of heights. Upstairs, similar to downstairs, was designed just as modern. An interesting contrast to the exterior of the church. Old on the outside, new on the inside.

The more he saw, the more he appreciated it and could see himself living in a place like this. As long as it didn’t turn into a real-life remake of the Dawn of the Dead. If the ghosts kept on their side of the stone wall and he kept on his, everything would be peachy.

On one wall was a king-sized bed and on the floor nearby sat two large dog beds. Across the loft was a wall-mounted TV. Not quite as big as the ninety-six inch at the BAMC clubhouse, but still impressive.

In the back left corner of the loft was a huge walk-in closet. On the right, a nice-sized bathroom with not only a shower stall, but a large soaking tub. Since the ceilings were angled due to the roof line, a large skylight had been installed low enough to give Mel a view while taking a bath.

What that view consisted of he didn’t know since it was dark as fuck outside. One thing about living out in the country, the nights were pitch black.

“This place is really impressive, Mel.” He snagged her wrist and pulled her to him, slamming her chest into his. “Just like you.”

“I’m just a simple woman trying to make ends meet.”

Bullshit. “Don’t sell yourself short. You see what you want and go for it. With that gumption, I have no doubt you’ll one day soon own a club of your own and you’ll make it a damn success.”

“Maybe the Demons buying out Laura was the push I needed.”

Maybe. But that didn’t mean he liked the pressure put on her from that shitty deal.

It might not be in the next few months, but the MC’s time was coming. Investigations of this magnitude were typically long and drawn out since the feds had to make sure their case was bullet-proof before dragging in everyone involved. Otherwise, they’d be letting them free just as quickly. In the meantime, the task force needed to identify weak links in the MC. Members willing to turn into witnesses in exchange for lesser charges.

While he was currently standing in Mel’s bedroom thanks to the Demons, fuck thinking about them right now. He had better things to do.

Like the blonde staring up at him with a sly smile on her face. “Just so you know, my expectations aren’t being met right now.”

“What do I need to do to change that?”

She sounded very serious when she demanded, “I want to see all your freckles.”

One eyebrow lifted. “All of them?”

“I think it would be fun to go on a little hunt.”

“I can think of other fun things to do.”

Her smile widened. “I’m up for suggestions.”

Before he could give her any, she took a step back and began to thumb open the buttons of her shirt one by one with excruciating slowness. A tease of sorts, but nothing like her lap dance in the VIP room. It was not only the hottest lap dance he’d ever had, but the hottest sex.

However, that didn’t mean tonight wouldn’t be just as hot. It would only be different. He was fine with variety as long as it included Mel.
