“I’m thinking about it. Joining a law enforcement MC sounds like fun.”

“It’s not fun,” Crew said quickly, hoping to discourage her from joining the BAMC.

She lifted an eyebrow. “Then, why would you belong to one?”

“It’s a brotherhood,” he explained.

“We have loads of fun,” Decker countered. “How about Camshaft? Cam-omile.”

“Or just Camo,” Finn suggested.

Mullins decided to join in. “Cameo. BodyCam. Camelback. Camel toe!” burst from him on a laugh. “I could do this all day.”

“But you won’t,” Crew told him, shooting him a scowl. “We have work to do.”

“Yes, boss,” Mullins teased.

Crew closed his eyes and shook his head. A few snorts made him open his eyes. He knew she would disrupt his team.

He needed to come up with a job for her that took her out of The Plant and put her elsewhere.

Like surveillance.

Nobody liked to do that job.

It would be perfect for her. It would keep her busy and keep her away from the rest of his team.

And him.

He went over to the coffeemaker, topped off his mug and settled in front of one of the available computers.

Decker dropped into the chair next to him, rolled it until it banged into his and whispered, “When did this turn into doggy daycare?”

“It’s temporary.”

“You mean the same as what you’re hoping for with her? To be on the team only temporarily?”

Crew didn’t answer him, but he did risk a glance over his shoulder to make sure Cabrera didn’t overhear them. “I need to find something for her to do. She’s distracting.”

“For us? Or for you?”

Crew gritted his teeth. Both. “The team.”

“She’s not distracting me. Maybe the dog is, but we’ll get used to the new task force mascot.”

“He’s not going to be the mascot!” he exclaimed a bit too loudly.

Decker chuckled, then turned in his chair and got to business. “Anybody see T-Bone lately on the cameras or the recorded footage?”

“Haven’t seen hide nor hair of him,” Finn answered. “Nox hasn’t, either. Me thinks the Demon returned to his home in hell.”

“We could only be so lucky,” Decker muttered.

“How about Saint?” Crew asked. The manager of The Peach Pit had been down and out for a bit after Rez’s woman tried to drive a platform heel into this brain, then beat him unconscious with the butt of his own gun.

Admittedly, it was the best thing Crew had seen in a while.

“Looks like he’s back terrorizing the girls at The Peach Pit,” Finn reported. “He looks uglier than ever since Sapphire did a number on him,” he finished with a blinding grin. “Hey, boss, can I bring in Minx and Jinx?”

“No,” Crew answered. “This isn’t doggy daycare, despite what it looks like.”

Cabrera spun her office chair around. “Who’s Minx and Jinx?”

“Our Dobermans,” Finn answered.

“Oh, cool. Fellow dog lover.” She high-fived him in the air, even though they were on opposite sides of the room.

“They are cool.”

When Finn returned the high-five, Crew rolled his eyes.

“What’s up your ass?” the BAMC road captain asked him with a frown.

“A stick about four feet long is my guess,” Cabrera answered, causing laughter from the guys.

For fuck’s sake, she was fitting right in.

And that could be a problem.

“I didn’t get much sleep last night,” he lied.

Finn jerked his fist back and forth. “Too much porn last night?”

Cabrera’s head twisted toward him as she waited for his answer.

No, too many fantasies about the woman he’d watched bending over and carrying in boxes last night. He almost got caught eye-balling her, like the perv he was, several times.

And maybe too much porn.

“Maybe not enough,” Decker said. “You’d think jerking off to porn would make him fall asleep faster.”

It was best to ignore them. If he argued, they’d only ride his ass harder. Instead, he turned to the computer and began to analyze all the businesses the Demons had purchased in the last couple of years since partnering with the Russos. They targeted businesses that could be used as a way to sell drugs, a way to launder their drug money, or both.

The task force already had plenty of evidence of drug sales out of Pizza Town. The team had cameras installed at The Peach Pit and their Uniontown church, so those locations were covered.

Where could he set her up to do surveillance? Where did they still need to document the outlaw MC’s activities? What would keep her out of his hair?

As well as his thoughts?

He scrolled down through the list of Demon-owned businesses.

The car wash…

The laundromat…

Wait…

Either of those would work, even though both had been purchased strictly for washing their dirty money. Realistically, there wouldn’t be much activity there. One reason he didn’t have anyone on his team staking out those locations.

Plus, forensic accountants would be utilized to prove money laundering for the upcoming indictments.

But then there was…

“Hey, did those fuckle-chucks actually buy the Hawg Wild Saloon?” he called out.
