Bruno’s face turns red while my friend tries to hold back his laughter, and I discreetly flip the asshole off behind my daughter’s back before telling Marissa, “But you’re going to spend a while in time-out for letting your brother talk you into doing something you know is wrong.
“And you.” I glare at Dmitri, searching my brain for the appropriate punishment for his crime. “Are going to spend the afternoon cleaning your room to make up for being mean to your sister.”
When my son opens his mouth to argue, I glare at him, daring the little shit to try me. “Yes, Daddy.” Dmitri sighs, finally realizing how easy I’m letting him off.
“Well played,” Bruno compliments me after we send the children to their rooms for their punishments. “Your wife has done a great job training you.”
“That she has,” I agree. After all, you can’t argue with the truth.
Later that night, my wife snuggles against my side and runs her hand across my chest. “I heard the kids gave you a busy afternoon.” I should’ve known she’d find out. Nothing stays secret in this house.
“They did.” I smile at Belle, feeling her luscious curves pressed against my side. Her sweet body is tempting me to forget how tired I am. “How did you know?” I have to ask.
“I knew Dmitri did something when I saw how clean his room is,” Belle explains. “It didn’t take much to get him to admit to his crimes.”
“Your interrogation skills are top-notch.” I laugh and pull her close.
“What can I say?” My wife leans up to kiss my lips. “I learned from the king.”
“And your king has a lot more to teach you,” I promise as happiness flows through me.
“Promises, promises,” Belle whispers against my lips before I spin her around and proceed to show her a few new things. Hopefully, our new things will lead to another little monster running around the house.
Coming to Silver Spoon Falls was the best thing I ever did. I somehow got lucky enough to find the perfect soulmate, partner, and wife. Life couldn’t get any better.
