“You’d do that for me?”

He smirks.

“I’m starting to learn I’ll do anything for you, Leona.”

Swallowing the lump in my throat, I nod. He’s become insane, we’ve both gone mad.

“I was never really insane except upon occasions when my heart was touched,” I whisper, and he runs his thumb over my bottom lip.

“Edgar Allan Poe. You’re smart and lethal,” he states and I feel a sense of pride. My grandmother may be a crazy old lady, but she knows what she’s doing.

“Kieran, these are my people, I can’t just hand them over,” I tell him, my heart falling in my stomach that he might be against me standing beside him at the throne. “We’re in this together,” I tell him, not ask.

“Of course,” he mutters, his fingers interlocking with my own. “I don’t think your crew would appreciate me just stepping in and tell them what to do at first anyway. I have a feeling I’d kill Dominic the first job,” he says honestly, and it’s true. Dominic is going to fucking have a stroke when he hears this. But it’s the best idea. Two leaders from two of the most famous households in New York coming together… things are going to be catastrophic.

“What about your brother?” I question, nervous about where he’s going to end up in this war.

“Oh, he’ll be a DeAngelo, but he’ll be okay.” Kieran looks up at me with a sinister look.

“Never underestimate a DeAngelo.”

Epilogue-ish

Romeo

Sitting in my Navigator, I look up at the windows that make up one wall of my brother’s room. He’s in there with Leona, lost in a world of so-called love and bliss and now it’s my turn to endure my father’s appetite for control. Leaning up in my seat, I pull out silky material from my slacks and look it over, It’s Leona’s thong. I’ve had it since the day we’ve ransacked her room. Am I attracted to her, of course. Do I want her, no. The things in my head tell me there’s no room for a woman in my life. I’m unstable, and they’re not safe. This is as close as I can get to the delicate smell of a female. My eyes sweep to the lacy thing, my fingers caressing the silk. I’m no Kieran, I don’t talk and don’t understand what females want. That’s why i watch from afar. But I’m under my father’s thumb now, and being insane and a playboy is what it’s all about, right?

Dominic

Sitting at a table in the back of some hole in the wall bar, I see three men that will be rising from the grave and helping me and Leona get things back on track. The doors to the place opens and I look at the bar owner with a narrow stare, I told him to shut the place down. If he can’t follow a simple order, I’ll shoot him and take my business elsewhere.

The man is wearing an expensive suit and looks out of place of the men at my table. He grabs a chair, slides it around so he’s sitting backward and pops a toothpick in his mouth. His eyes on me.

“I’m Matteo, and now that Kieran is taking over the Bravado famiglia, I’ll be a part of whatever is going on from now on,” he informs.

I stand, my gun pointing at his head.

“Lies, Leona would never let Kieran take her last name, not before giving me ranking position!” I shout, and he slowly raises his head, switching the toothpick to the corner of his mouth.

“Don’t know what to tell ya, there’s a new boss in town, buddy.”

My jaw tics, my heart drumming so hard against my chest I think I’ll kill everyone in this bar right now. I had my doubts of letting a woman run a man’s business, but this… this goes to show she never should have been a fucking don.

Matteo

Sitting on the docks, I watch Emilio, Gio, Tony, and Leo lose their shit over the boat catching fire. It’s totaled. Kieran blew that fucker up and Emilio knows it. Hands on his hips, his wing-tipped shoes walk in my direction, a confused look on his face. He walks over to me, his fat ass making the dock rock back and forth. Crossing my arms, I stand on the end of a new yacht spaces from his trashed one and he stops right in front of me.

“What’s this? Insurance give you this?” he asks, pointing to the bigger and better super boat. It’s comical he thinks insurance already shipped him a new boat to replace his. I guess he also hasn’t heard I’m with Kieran now.

“Nah, this is Kieran’s boat, and I’mma need you to take a step back, sir.” I give a curt nod, pushing my jacket to the side to show I’m packing causing his face blisters red. He screams at me, and I stand there watching him combust into a damn fool.
