“Argon, yes, oh yes.”
With lightning speed, he flips me onto my back and kisses me hard. When he breaks the kiss, he goes down on me again. Stars burst behind my lids as I come.
He climbs back up my body, dropping kisses on his way. I cup his face as he kisses me. The taste of vanilla and apples is on his lips. I moan as the flavor bursts on my tongue.
“Blaise,” he breathes as he lifts my right leg over his arm and slides into me. “You feel what you do to me?”
I brush his hair behind his ear and look into his eyes. He’s so perfect. I wish this was another life. A life where I could remember who I am and where I’m from.
However, his eyes tell me none of that matters to him. I push my head back into the pillows and have to look away from the intensity of his gaze. I watch the flames that surround us.
They burn hot, but not as hot as his passion for me. Sweat drips down his back as I run my hands along his skin. His hard muscles flex as he moves in and out of me.
I can feel my own sweat gathering as the heat increases. Argon dips his head and licks a path across my scar, causing me to turn back to him. Tears build in my eyes.
“I want you the way you are,” he says softly. “I want you any way I can have you.”
I gasp and cling to his back tighter. Tears roll back into my ears. The flames roar around us and Argon smiles down at me.
Seconds later, the sound of crackling ice fills the room. I turn to find he has iced over my flames. The bed is encased by walls of ice. His hot body keeps me warm in spite of it. I look back at him. He kisses me senseless.
“You’re my other half. The yin to my yang. The fire to my ice. The noise to my silence. You are mine, Blaise.”
“I belong to you,” I whimper.
A loud roar fills the room and the ice scatters around us. It falls around us in tiny sparks of blue light, kind of like snowflakes. Argon’s blue-gray eyes glow as he stares down at me, but his lips haven’t moved. My gaze darts around for the dragon from last time.
I chide myself for thinking that this dream would be the same. Argon dips his head to latch on to my breast as he picks up the pace. I bite my lip and my eyes roll.
My entire body quivers as I come for him. It’s so intense my head spins. He spills inside me and I smile in sated bliss.

Argon
“I love these dreams,” she whispers before she blacks out.
I smile and shake my head. She believes these are dreams. If only she understood what my real feelings are for her. I resolve this isn’t the time to wake her and tell her.
I have to tear myself away from watching her sleep. I brush my lips across hers and she stirs. I would love nothing more than to bury myself in my soul match once more, but I have to return home to help my father.
My spirit link pulls as I climb from the bed and dress myself with the wave of my hand. Not able to help myself, I lean over the bed and peck her forehead and then her lips one last time.
“I’ll be back,” I whisper the promise.
Chapter 23
Healing Father
Argon
I step out of the chariot and stand before the portal that Blaise has opened for me. I hesitate to walk through as our link tugs at me. Closing my eyes, I inhale deeply.
“It won’t remain open for long,” Dinesh says as he flies to my side. “It will close with the rising of the suns.”
“I will return.”
I don’t know if I’m saying the words for him or for myself. I clench my fist at my side. I need to tend to my father. However, I get the feeling as if I’m leaving something unfinished here.
“I know. The problem is. You may be too late.”
I turn to him and narrow my eyes. “Too late. She has said this same thing. What aren’t you both telling me?”
Dinesh shakes his head. His eyes close as a look of sorrow covers his face. My stomach sinks.
“It isn’t my story to tell.” He opens his eyes and reaches into his little pocket. “I have a gift for you. No one comes through to this realm more than once without a key. Blaise will have my ass if she finds out I gave you this.
“Be quick to handle your business and return. This will guide you back,” he says and holds out a timepiece. It’s a clock pendant hanging from a chain. “Bach said to use it wisely.”
