Holy moly. I’m in so much trouble. I’d promised my sisters I’d let them know if I planned to spend the night. “I need to call my sisters before they send out a search party.”

“I already did that.” Thorne pulls me back down to his side. “Wilder told me he’d stop by their apartment to deliver my message.”

I’m not really sure that’s any better.

“I still need to call and check in with them.” Thorne doesn’t argue with my request.

My mate reaches over and grabs my phone off the bedside table. “Here you go.”

“How did you get that? I left it next to my purse and keys on the table next to your sofa last night.” Man, I slept harder than I’d originally thought.

“When I went down to lock up, I grabbed both our phones.” Thorne hugs me close. “I’m sorry I forgot to warn you that we would need extra sleep after the mating.” He kisses my forehead, and I almost forget what we’re discussing.

“I’m sure there’s something you can do to make it up to me.” I slide my leg over his thigh and feel his shaft harden against my skin.

“Call your sisters then we’ll work on it,” Thorne groans, and the sound vibrates off the walls.

I dial Bethany’s number and wait for the explosion. “You better be dead or at least horribly maimed,” she hisses. Yep. My younger sister is ticked off. “Wilder came over with some half-assed explanation that you’re otherwise occupied. Whatever that means.”

“Sorry.” I’m not really sorry, but I can’t tell her that. “I didn’t plan for this to happen.”

“Are you okay? Did that big jerk take advantage of you?” Sisterly love kicks in.

“I have never been better.” I hear her sigh of relief on the other end of the line. “My relationship with Thorne just progressed faster than I’d expected.”

“So, it’s a full-fledged relationship now?” My sister doesn’t sound upset anymore.

“The forever kind.” I glance over and watch my Bossy Bear walk across the room, and my inner hussy wakes up. His back muscles flex as he stretches then bends over to pull on sweatpants.

“I’ll come by the apartment tonight and explain everything.” And pack my things since I’m pretty sure my new mate isn’t going to let me sleep somewhere else. I hear my sister sputtering questions as I hang up the phone.

“That went well.” I shrug and smile at my new mate. “What are we going to do for the rest of the afternoon?”

Hunger flashes through Thorne’s eyes, causing them to glow. “I plan to do you. Over and over again.”

It’s dark by the time Thorne drives me back to the apartment. “I need to handle my sisters on my own,” I tell him as he pulls into the small parking lot behind the bakery. “Can you give me an hour then come back?”

“Anything for you, sweet girl,” my mate agrees but still insists on walking me to the apartment door. He leaves before I walk inside to face my sister.

I find Cora sitting on the sofa watching television with Bethany next to her typing away on her laptop. “Look who decided to come home.” Cora glances over and smirks. “You missed a fun morning.”

“What happened?” I sit on the chair next to the sofa. “Is everything okay?”

“Don't worry, we handled everything without you.” The snippiness is so evident in Cora’s voice that I can’t ignore it.

“What happened?” I need to know what has them so upset.

“Wilder Bearly is an asshole, and I hate him,” Cora calls over her shoulder, then hops up and storms away. Wow. They must’ve got into quite a row. I don’t think I’ve ever heard my sister use that kind of language. “I’m happy you found your mate, but his brother needs to drop dead,” she stops at the door and adds.

I turn to Bethany. “What the heck?”

“Cora and Wilder don’t get along.” That sounds like an understatement.

When my sister changes the subject to my mating with Thorne, I explain what happened, leaving out the unmentionable parts. I ghost over a lot of it, figuring my sister will find out for herself soon enough. I’m pretty sure both Bethany and Cora have already met their soul mates here in Honey Pot Hollow. The other two Bearly boys have their work cut out for them if they plan to win over my sisters.

Once Bethany is satisfied that Thorne isn’t some horrible monster who’s planning to kidnap me, she helps me pack a few things to take over to my new home. “I’ll still pay my third of the bills,” I promise her.

“And pull your weight at the bakery?” She stares at me with concern shining in her bright blue eyes.

“Of course,” I promise her. “Honey Buns is going to be the best freaking bakery in the entire state.”
