Georgia smiled, and the faintest hint of pink highlighted her cheeks. “Goodness, you’re going to have to reel in that swoon of yours, Mr. Brooks.”

“And why is that, Mrs. Brooks?”

“Because it’s dangerous,” she proclaimed, eyes serious. “One day, I swear, it might make me pass out or, hell, make my panties just go poof and disappear into thin air. Could you imagine if we were in public when something like that happened?”

“Oh, I can imagine you without panties anywhere, baby. It’s my superpower.” I waggled my brows and walked toward her. It didn’t take long before I was lifting her off the couch and into my arms, gently wrapping her thighs around my waist.

Stan groaned a little at the disruption of his sleep, but when Walter curled up next to his head, he smacked his lips a few times and went back to relaxing.

“I missed you today,” I whispered, and her smile only grew.

“You just saw me this morning.” She wrapped her arms around my neck, and I didn’t hesitate to press a kiss to her smiling lips.

“Exactly. Nine fucking hours ago,” I retorted and rubbed my nose against hers. “Which is why you need to quit working for that bastard boss of yours and come back to work for me.”

She giggled and rolled her eyes at the same time. “That bastard boss of mine is one of your best friends.”

“I don’t give a fuck. Tell Wes Lancaster you’re done working for his little football team and you’re ready to come back to Brooks Media.”

“And what would be the benefits of working at Brooks Media?”

“Orgasmic lunch breaks,” I returned swiftly and without hesitation, and she rolled her eyes again.

“That is exactly why I should stay where I’m at.”

“What?” I fake frowned. “You don’t like when I give you orgasms, Benny girl?”

“Don’t be dramatic,” she said with a laugh I could feel in the depths of my chest. “You know I love it. I love it too much, in fact.” She bit her lip as she stared at mine, adding softly, “We’d never get any work done.”

I gripped her perfect, lush ass in my hands. “We’d get tons done. It might not be related to Brooks Media or any of our subsidiaries, but oh baby, would we ever get it done.”

“That’s exactly what I’m talking about!” She snorted and playfully slapped my chest.

Unfortunately, she didn’t stay put and, instead, placed a smacking kiss to my lips and gently disentangled herself from my arms until her feet were firmly back on the ground.

“Where are you going?” I questioned with a whine.

She winked over her shoulder. “Into the kitchen.”

“Which kitchen? The room I think is the kitchen?” I questioned. “Or a different kitchen?”

“The only kitchen, smartass,” she retorted on a laugh. “Where our dinner is currently located in the oven.”

“All right, fine. But I’ll follow you this time, just so I don’t get lost.”

She laughed smugly and swayed her hips extra hard as she led the way back to the room I’d come from.

It was truly cute that she thought the show she was putting on for me was some kind of punishment.

If that were the case, I’d be bad a lot more often.

Back in the kitchen, she busied herself with something in the oven, and I hitched a hip against the counter and enjoyed the view that was my wife bent over with her perfect ass perched toward the air.

Damn, I was a lucky son of a bitch.

“Wah, wah wah wah wah wah wah?” Georgia asked, doing her best impression of Charlie Brown’s mother. Truly, though, it wasn’t her fault. My ears had just redirected their energy to my eyes, hoping that with their powers combined, I’d be gifted with a sexy version of X-ray vision.

“Sorry, babe. What was that?” I asked for clarification, prompting her to roll her eyes and speak slowly.

She shut the oven door and stood back up to face me. “So, how…was…your…day…at…work?”

“Oh,” I muttered and ran a hand through my hair. “Considering I had to deal with Leslie for most of it because Meryl had to leave early for an appointment and Dean took a vacation day, it was about as fucking awful as you’d imagine.”

Once the glorious distraction that was Georgia had left Brooks Media to take a job as Director of Marketing for the New York Mavericks, it had become more and more apparent that Leslie—an intern turned lazy-fucking-employee—was a seriously huge thorn in my side.

“You do realize you’re the boss, right? You could fire her.” Georgia grinned at me as she set a potholder on the counter by the stove. Of course, now that she didn’t have to deal with Leslie directly, my pain was no more than a tool for her amusement. She didn’t care if I fired Leslie or not because she didn’t work with Leslie anymore.
