“Got it,” I say with a firm nod. Valentine’s Day is a completely overrated holiday in my opinion and I won’t mind spending it with my three favorite boys.

Drake leans down and plants a kiss on top of my head. “Going to find my girl for a dance.”

I watch him walk off and then my gaze slides over the dance floor. I see Camden and Danica dancing, and it’s sweet they’ve reconnected after all these months following the crash.

Finishing my champagne, I look around for an empty tray to place it on and my eyes lock on Bain standing at the double doors of the ballroom. He’s staring at me with a mischievous smirk. He gives a jerk of his head for me to come his way, then turns and walks out.

Okay, my curiosity is piqued. I hand my empty flute to a passing waiter and walk toward the ballroom exit. I’m trying not to rush as I don’t want to call attention, but I’m far too eager to see what Bain is up to.

I turn left out of the double doors and spy him walking down the hall. He doesn’t look back at me but strolls along, nodding to people as we pass. A set of restrooms are at the end of the hall and he turns right down another hall. I follow him, hanging back a bit so no one will guess I’m tracking him.

Just as I make the right turn, I see him down a bit, taking a left. Glancing around, I don’t see anyone and break into a delicate trot, even though I am in sky-high sandals. I make the left turn but I don’t see Bain. Up ahead is another hall and I walk that way, curious where he’s gone.

When I reach the intersection, he steps out and grabs my arm. I’m slightly startled but have no chance to yell as he’s pulling me into him for a soul-stirring kiss. My arms wrap around his neck and his hands go to my ass to hold me to him.

Our tongues tangle and a low rumble of need pushes from his chest into mine.

“Christ,” Bain mutters as he spins us around and backs me into the wall. “This night is taking fucking forever.”

“I know,” I gasp as his mouth hits my neck.

“Need to touch you for a bit.”

I lift my leg—thank you, long slit in my skirt—and wrap it around the back of his so that I can grind against him. He’s thick and hard and I know it has to be uncomfortable. If we weren’t in a public hallway—although no one is around at the moment—I’d ease that suffering with my hand or my mouth.

Bain’s hand comes under my thigh, lifting it higher until it’s at his hip. His other hand grasps my jaw so he can possess my mouth.

Someone gasps… a shocked rasp of air and I know we’ve been caught.

Weirdly, neither Bain nor I jolt at the intrusion, and it tells me that neither of us cares to explain ourselves. His mouth lifts from mine as we turn our heads toward the sound.

It’s Danica and Camden, two people I couldn’t care less knowing about me and Bain. I grin at Danica, although I notice Camden looks decidedly uncomfortable.

But then I see that he and Danica are holding hands and my jaw drops slightly.

Danica pulls away from Camden and marches up to me, snagging my wrist. Tugging me from Bain, she says, “Come on.”

I don’t hesitate to follow. My moment with Bain is over, but he’s coming to my place tonight so in a few hours, it will all be good. I glance over my shoulder and blow him a kiss. He smirks back.

Danica holds my hand all the way to the ballroom but drops it just as we walk in. She spins on me, steps in close and whispers harshly, “What in the hell were you doing with Bain?”

“It’s obvious what I was doing. What were you and Camden doing?”

Danica looks off to the side, mulling my question. But she sighs and turns back to lock eyes with me. “We’ve been seeing each other.”

A wide smile breaks free. “That’s amazing.”

“I know. But we’re keeping it on the down low, so you can’t tell anyone.”

I cock an eyebrow at her. “You realize Bain and I are doing the same thing. Secretly banging each other too.”

Danica lets out a nervous laugh and looks around. “I’ll call you tomorrow and tell you all about it, okay?”

“Of course.” I pull her in for a quick hug and she melts off into the crowd.

I glance down at the slim gold watch Drake got me for Christmas two years ago. I think it would be fine if I left. Bain won’t be far behind and we can pick up at my house with that amazing kiss that got interrupted. We have another four days before he leaves for a four-day road trip and we need to make the most of it.
