“She might—if we change how we treat her,” I say softly.

“Yeah? What are you two going to do? Show up on her doorstep with roses? That’s not what this week is about. And think of how many times we’ve gotten her off. She gets off on this kink, too.” Kylian suddenly looks tired. “She’s as fucked up as we are. How could any of us not be with the kind of upbringing we had?”

No one disputes that. Then Lyle speaks. “Maybe we can change. Honor has.”

Kylian scoffs. “Yeah, she changed from a sweet kid to a woman who sells her body to the highest bidder.”

For a moment, I think that Lyle is going to jump up and take another swing at Ky, but to his credit, he stays where he is. “She’s strong now. She speaks up for herself. If she can do that with three men who bought her, she can do that with anyone. She’s changed.”

“I guess she has,” I concur.

“It doesn’t matter. If you two think this week ends with the four of us riding off into the sunset together, you’re fooling yourselves. But it makes no difference to me,” Kylian says, striding toward the house. “Either way, I have two more days to play with that ripe little body, and I intend to make the most of it.”

Lyle and I stay out in the dark garden long after Kylian, and his harsh words, are gone.

* * *

On Wednesday evening, we head down the now-familiar hallway toward Honor’s room. Even though there’s one more day left, it feels rather… final. Like things will change tonight. Or maybe I’m just off-kilter from the fight the three of us had earlier this morning.

I try to convince myself that it’s over, that it’s in the past. But on the drive here, we were oddly formal with each other. None of us have forgotten the words that we exchanged.

Frustration fills me because this is exactly what Dick-Ass wants. It’s what he’s always wanted. To drive a wedge between us and to weaken our bond. Even though all three of us know that, we still fall into his trap.

Lyle was right that we need to change. The question is, how do we do it?

Then Honor’s at the door wearing a white button-down blouse and a short skirt, just as Ky asked her to before tonight’s session. He’s up to something, but I don’t know what.

The outfit puts her somewhere between grown-up schoolgirl and sexy secretary, somehow both innocent and aggressively seductive at the same time. Her blonde tresses are draped over her shoulders like golden ribbons. I swear, every night we do this, she grows more beautiful.

The sight of her lifts my mood. I step quickly and enter the room first, taking her into my arms. Her small body feels so damn good when I pull her toward me. I bury my nose in her silky hair and take a deep breath. Then I nibble on her ear, and she giggles.

“Guess someone’s happy to see me,” she says.

“Make that two people.” Lyle takes her hand and spins her toward him. She melts into his arms. He gives her a kiss—a very long kiss—and seems reluctant to let go.

Honor smiles and wipes her mouth with the back of her hand as she turns to greet Kylian. But her smile fades as she catches sight of the expression on his face.

Uh-oh.

Honor steels herself and looks him straight in the eye—something most people in our office don’t manage when he’s in this kind of mood. “Bad day?” she asks.

“You can make it better,” he says gruffly.

“I’d be happy to.” She looks like she really means it. “Would you like a drink first, or should we—”

“We should make this interesting.” There’s a dangerous glint in Kylian’s eye that I don't like. I think we’re about to find out what he’s been planning. “After all, our week’s almost over.”

Honor pales, but she stands her ground. “What do you mean by interesting?”

Kylian shrugs off his suit coat and folds it before putting it on a chair. “We’ve taken it pretty easy on you this week.”

“I wouldn’t say that,” Lyle begins, but Kylian ignores him as he begins his advances on Honor.

“Remember what I said to you that first night? That you could pretend you didn’t like it? That you could pretend we were forcing you?” He unbuttons the top three buttons of his dress shirt. “You didn’t keep your end of the bargain, Honor.”

“W-what do you mean?” Her eyes flicker between his face and the slow, deliberate motion of his hands.

“Admit it; you’ve loved everything we’ve done to you.”

“Maybe we should take a minute and get a drink first.” I put my hand on Kylian’s arm, but he shakes me off, his muscles tense.

“It’s time to take things up a notch,” he says to Honor.
