“No, that’s not what we agreed on,” Asher said, using his intimidating boardroom tone, which was rough and held just the slight hint of a threat.

I rubbed my palms over my face where I was set up on the conference table in Asher’s office, my laptop opened, and my Word doc up and staring at me. I was in the middle of the first intimate scene, which usually came easy to me, but with Asher’s voice popping into my head every five seconds, I kept getting distracted.

Plus, he was pacing behind me—something he was prone to doing while taking calls, walking all over the place in his office—his scent carrying on the air every time he passed me.

I blew out a breath, shook out my fingers, and focused on my screen. I tuned out Asher’s voice, his smell, his damn notable presence behind me, and thought of nothing else but the heat happening between my two characters.

Alek locked the door to his office, the sound like a gun going off. His eyes trailed the length of my body, lingering on my bare legs beneath my skirt as I leaned against his massive desk.

His strong hands gripped my hips when he reached me, hefting me up to sit on the edge of his desk.

“Don’t you have a meeting?” I teased, my heart racing as he slid his hands up my thighs, parting them wider so he could step between them.

“Fuck the meeting,” he said. “I’ll blame it on this skirt.” He growled as he brushed his lips over mine. “It’s driving me crazy.”

His kiss was consuming, burning straight through the center of me, and I gasped between his lips when his hand roamed higher, teasing me over the lace panties I wore.

“Alek,” I sighed, my head tilting back as he planted kisses down my neck and lower.

Alek pushed the lace to the side, sliding his fingers through my heat, finding me slick and aching for him. His eyes met mine, fire churning there as he pushed those two fingers inside me.

“You’re so wet for me already, baby,” he said, pumping me, teasing me. “What have you been thinking about all day?” He smirked, pushing deeper inside me.

I gripped his broad shoulders, bucking my hips against his hand, chasing that sensation that was building inside me. “You,” I admitted on a strained breath. “I haven’t been able to stop thinking about you since that night…” My words cut off to a moan as he shifted his fingers, gliding my warmth over that sensitive bundle of nerves, teasing me with too-light pressure.

“Since I kissed you?” he asked, his voice low and rough.

“Yes.” I sucked in a sharp breath as he slid his free hand around my lower back, encasing me in his embrace, urging me forward as he pumped me again and again, driving me wild with just his fingers.

“Alek,” I begged as he teased me and worked me up. Driving me toward that brilliant edge…

He flattened the heal of his palm over my clit while increasing his pace, giving me the pressure I needed while I bucked against him, riding his hand until I shattered around his fingers.

“Alek,” I said again, my entire body shivering from what he’d just done to me.

Alek grinned at me, sliding his hand out from beneath my skirt and bringing his fingers to his lips, sucking my flavor off of them—

Some sort of awareness jerked me out of the scene, and I tilted my head, coming back to myself as I tried to figure out what it was.

Had Asher said my name?

No. Asher wasn’t even speaking anymore.

A hot presence radiated behind me, and I clenched my eyes shut for a few seconds before I glanced over my shoulder…

And found Asher fucking Silas right there, eyes on my laptop, his lips parted in shock and something molten churning in his eyes.

His gaze met mine as I flashed him an accusing glance, but I wasn’t able to hold the attitude for long.

Not when he was looking at me the way he was, which was all sorts of primal and needy and every way he shouldn’t be looking at me. But I didn’t dare break that gaze, not when it made my heart race and an ache wrench between my thighs.

Because in that moment, with the silence between us and the heat in his gaze, I felt like he might’ve been the character I was writing…the billionaire who had everything but what he truly needed, which was sitting right in front of him.

And maybe, for just a second, I entertained the fantasy. Entertained what I’d do if Asher stepped just an inch closer, put those strong hands on me, spread me out on his desk…

Asher’s phone rang, jolting us both out of the moment.

I shut my laptop, and he blinked out of wherever his thoughts had been, and answered his phone.
