“You erase everything,” I whispered, unable to not tell him that little secret. “You make me feel safe and wanted, and as if there’s not another thing in this world that’ll ever hurt me.”
He dropped so that his elbows were beside my head, and then he was kissing me as he rocked gently into me.
The thrusts had changed, but the way he was building me up had not.
If anything else, the sweet, passionate way he was making love to me was causing me to go faster and faster toward the pinnacle. The way he so lovingly held my face with both of his hands, and his breath fanned over my lips with each shuddered exhale.
“Cassius.” I squeezed my eyes shut. “I’m…”
“Go,” he replied, voice ragged. “Go.”
The last ‘go’ sounded like a plea as if he was hanging on by only a thread.
I went.
I went, and went, and went, and went until what felt like my heart stopped from too much pleasure.
He grunted above me, his hands tightening on my face almost comically, squeezing it so that my lips squished together and my cheeks met my nose.
I was sure that I looked absolutely hilarious as we came together, but there was nothing that I could do, because I was still in the process of trying to recover from whatever that was that we’d just done.
“Shit, sorry.” Cassius chuckled as he finally let my face go.
I was panting, and I wasn’t sure if it was due to the pain I was in, the awkward state my face had just been in, or the realization that I’d just had the absolute best orgasm of my life, or possibly even the orgasm itself.
“It’s okay,” I practically slurred. “I’ll live.”
“I wish I could take a picture of that face I was forcing you to make.” He laughed as he sat up on his haunches, taking his weight off of me.
That’s when I realized there was likely another reason I’d been panting.
Cassius was freakin’ heavy, and he’d just been pinning me down to the bed with his big ass body.
I took a deep breath, happy for the oxygen, and finally opened my eyes to see Cassius staring down at me with a smirk on his face.
“What?” I grumbled.
He slowly pulled out of me, and I groaned.
Cassius was a big man. Bigger than any I’d ever had—though that wasn’t really a surprise.
What was a surprise was how thoroughly sated I felt. It was as if whatever I’d gotten from everyone else hadn’t been the real thing. Or it hadn’t been something that could fully satisfy me.
Let me tell you something. Cassius could definitely fully satisfy me.
He twisted our bodies so that I was now lying on top of his chest. Then he was yanking the covers up over me, which was when I realized that I was slightly shaking.
Aftershocks were zipping over my skin, giving me a delicious tingle that was traveling all along my most intimate nerve endings.
That’s when I noticed that the boat was rocking a little more than it had been when we’d gotten there.
“Your houseboat is rocking,” I whispered into his chest. “And it’s definitely not because we’ve had some rough seas.”
He started to laugh, causing his chest to quake underneath my face that was plastered against it.
“No, I think you’re right,” he admitted. “It sways all the time, but that was likely something someone could see from the outside and know exactly what we’d been doing.”
“It’s probably a good thing Silvy doesn’t know yet, or he’d have been over here right now, ripping you a new one,” I mumbled sleepily.
Geez, I was tired. As in, I could sleep for days kind of tired. Tonight had been a long one. One that I hadn’t expected to be quite as long as it’d gotten, otherwise I would’ve gone to bed earlier the night before.
He smoothed his hand up the length of my spine, his voice soft and husky as he said, “Go to sleep. I’ll wake you when everyone gets here.”
And they would come.
We both knew it.
Silvy and my dad wouldn’t be able to stay away.
I wouldn’t be surprised if my grandfather dragged my grandmother out of the house, too.
I closed my eyes and shifted my body slightly, falling to the side of his body, and using his leg to prop mine up.
“Night, Cassius,” I grumbled.
He squeezed me in reply.

-Cassius to Wake
CASSIUS
I pulled the covers up high so that the only thing peeking out of the comforter was her black, messy hair.
She’d been sleeping for a solid four hours, and I hoped that she would continue to sleep.
She’d gotten up once to clean up—and that was a different discussion we’d be having for a different day when everything wasn’t so highly emotional—only to collapse back on top of me and not move for a solid amount of time.
