I slipped out of bed and went in search of Lo. “It’s time to go he’s on the move.”

“We were waiting for you brother, Ty left out about five minutes ago.” The mood was somber as we headed into the hills where I was sure Lyon and Ty were heading. After tonight there will be no turning back. If we made first strike the enemy would know that we were onto him, it was the equivalent of declaring war.

When we’d gone up against The Fox in the past, we had the backing of the world governments behind us, this time we were on our own. And from what we’d gathered so far, coupled with the fact that there was no way he could’ve found out who we were without inside information, we were in the middle of something very nasty.

“You sure you ready for this brother? I know you have security but you’re like a sitting duck here. Why don’t you give some thought to coming down to Georgia? We can protect you better there.”

“I’m not running from this fuck.”

“No but you got a wife and a kid on the way that you need to think about, we have the compound brother, they’ll be safe there.”

It was something to think about. What he was saying made sense and if I didn’t have Dana Sue to think about I’d stand my ground and take on all comers. But these new developments had changed the game.

“I’ll think about it. I hear our little deserters coming now.” I watched as Colt and Ty with Colt’s crew made their way through the brush. I stepped out from the dark and cut them off and was lucky I didn’t catch a bullet. Fucking Lyon.

“You guys are late.” I lifted my brow at his hardheaded ass. Later I’ll take him to task for going off on his own, but since we were already here what was the point? I knew he wasn’t going to back down anyway so I wasn’t going to try.

“Law, fancy seeing you here.” I gave him the finger as Lo dragged Tyler off to chew his ass out.

“Kill the shit Lyon your woman sold you out.”

“Kat? What the fuck?”

“Apparently she’s been on with you for the last little while up until roughly an hour or so ago, when you went off grid. It doesn’t take a genius to figure that shit out.”

“Uh-huh, tell your soldier boy fucks if they’re not here to play get the fuck down off the hill I got shit to do and bullets don’t know no names.”

“You hardheaded son of a bitch, didn’t I tell you to wait?” He just shrugged and looked bored. “You want in or you gonna stand around here all night? I got a few assholes to dispatch brother.” He filled me in on what they had planned as Lo came back to us.

“You got lead on this one since you called the play. But Colt, try to…” He just walked away before I could finish. He and Tyler met and went off together in the dark headed for the top of the hill where the hate brigade lived.

Lo and I headed into the trees. The plan was to pick off the fuckers who got away as Lyon and his team smoked them out. We branched off in different directions ducking behind trees to stay hidden. Once we were in position Lo gave the signal. A call pretty much like my own that only someone who was part of our teams would know.

Shit jumped off right away. There were shots and screaming, men running all over the place. I wanted the grandfather for my boy Brandon but shit was too crazy for me to get a bead on him. We worked in tandem the way we always did even with a renegade in our midst.

By the time the dust settled the mountain was littered with bodies. I waited for my boys to come back. Creed was the last one to come out. “You done?” I asked as he entered the clearing. He nodded and kept moving down the mountain. I counted heads and made sure we were all out. “Torch it.” I gave the order. If anything was left up there it would be ash by morning. The hate brigade would have to find a new hideout, hopefully somewhere far the fuck away from me.

The grandfather was still alive, I could hear him making noise about calling the sheriff until Jake whispered something in his ear. That shit shut him the fuck up quick and I walked over and grabbed his stupid ass by the neck.

“You fucked up old man.” I passed his ass off to my boys and we headed for home. I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with him and the others we’d caught, but whatever they knew we’d know soon enough even if I had to cut his dick off to get what I wanted.
