I hung up and sat in the dark for a while contemplating. I was trying to tie it all together in my head now that we had another piece of the puzzle. I better go tell Dana Sue that she wasn’t going to get to plan her first Xmas as my wife. Hopefully her nosy ass would jump at the chance to be with the other women again.

Chapter 10

LAW

***

Far from being upset Dana Sue was chomping at the bit to head to Lyon’s place. I had the boys getting the place prepared for our absence. Brandon had had words with the grand fuckwit while the rest of us watched. We’d finally let him now that we had his daughter and granddaughter, but we kept back the news of her lineage for now.

He made a lot of noise and threw around some threats but we just laughed at his ass. He wasn’t giving up anything on his nephew, Stockton and claimed not to know anything about the trafficking or why more than ten girls from this area had been in that damn book. Since we didn’t believe his ass I decided to keep him and let the others go with a warning. I wasn’t expecting any trouble out of them since they had twenty-four hours to head out of town or bear the consequences. Now I had something else to deal with.

“I called this meeting because we have a problem. My wife is pregnant as well as yours Brand. We know they’re up to some shit but as long as they can’t get off the grounds we should be able to contain them. If anything happens to my wife somebody’s gonna pay so I suggest you fucks keep your ears and eyes open.”

There was a lot of mumbling as was to be expected but it is what it is. “Anybody know what happened to Doc Sommers? I’ve been trying to track her down with no help.”

“Maybe because she’s ninety and retired. What you need her for?”

“Because Clay she delivered me and she’s gonna deliver my kid.”

“But she’s been retired for years, she lives out in the boonies on a farm or some shit last I heard.”

“Well find her.”

“And then?”

“After we get back from Lyon’s bring her here.

“You can’t be serious you’re gonna kidnap her?”

“No you ass, but the only doctor in town is a man no fucking way. She was good enough to bring me into the world, she’ll do. Now are we ready to hit the road?”

Creed and I were the first to make it to Colt’s place a few weeks later. “Well Lyon, we made it.” I looked around the room at all the mayhem. There were women and kids all over the place and I could see where Kat had gone all out for the holiday. It was easy to put everything else aside for a little while surrounded by all this gaiety.

“I’m glad you came.” He clapped me on the shoulder and we turned to watch the women getting reacquainted. Dana Sue looked happy so for me the trip was already worth it. When the SEALs showed up we really had a full house then.

People were spread out from the backyard to the driveway. Somebody had turned on the stereo and Xmas carols were piping through the speaker system, and the women were passing around trays of food and drinks.

I made sure she was settled because I knew I was going to be leaving her for the better part of the night. We may have come here under the guise of celebrating but every man there knew why we had really made the trip.

Lyon’s youngest daughter was the star attraction, a pretty little thing. I hope Dana Sue better not get any ideas about daughters and shit. I had enough on my hands with her ass, no more females, for fuck sake we were already overrun.

The phone rang on Lyon’s hip. He answered snapped his fingers to get my attention. I alerted the others when I saw the look on his face. We were only hearing his end of the conversation so we waited for him to let us in on what was going on as we followed him to the study. All we knew was that it was Mancini.

“Okay, we’re all in. I’m going to speaker now.” The phone crackled and then a man’s voice came on the line.

“I did some digging into your situation. I don’t know how much the SEALs have shared with the rest of you, but you’re swimming in very murky waters.”

“If you go after this, you better be sure you know what you’re going into. They will come after your families, your friends and your businesses. Any and everything they can to stop you. The trafficking is only the tip of the iceberg, I have Intel that Khalil is on his way to the states but not for the reasons you may think.”
