He was every bit as fucking beautiful as I’d expected. His chest and abs belonged on the cover of a romance novel. When he pushed his pants down, it was all I could do not to pull him to me again. I wanted to run my tongue along his hip bones and test the weight of his heavy balls.

“Clothes.” He waved a hand at me.

“Yes, I have clothes.”

He growled. “Off.”

“Pushy bastard.”

“I’ll take them off for you if you don’t listen.”

“Come on then.”

Ambrose

I crossed the space between us in two strides, grabbed hold of Eric’s t-shirt, and yanked it up. “Arms over your head.”

He didn’t move.

“Winston. You better fucking do as you’re told.”

“Here. Tonight. But that’s all you get. I won’t always obey you.”

“We’ll see about that.”

He held my gaze as he raised his arms, and I knew he wasn’t going to bend as easily as I wanted him to. He was a challenge, more of one than I would have guessed when I first met him.

I couldn’t be sure I was going to be able to control him, and that scared me. Nothing was supposed to scare me anymore. Nothing besides losing someone I cared about.

You care about Eric.

I’m responsible for Eric.

I pulled his t-shirt over his head and dropped it on the floor, then paused to take in how incredible he looked. His shirt had been tight enough that I’d known how firm his muscles were. I’d guessed his chest would be dusted with dark hair, and it was. But I hadn’t realized how very much I’d want to run my tongue over every ridge of his abs. I also longed to skim the backs of my fingers through his treasure trail and toy with the waistband of his jeans.

“I thought you wanted me out of my clothes fast,” Eric protested.

“I changed my mind.”

“Nervous?”

“Fuck no.”

He frowned. “You don’t have to—”

I wrapped a hand around the back of his neck and brought his lips to mine. I needed to kiss him again, to taste him, to reassure myself the connection I was feeling was real. I wasn’t scared of fucking him. I wasn’t weirded out that he was a man. In the moment, it felt completely natural, like I’d wanted him all my life, but I was afraid tonight would have consequences I wouldn’t be able to deal with. I already thought of Eric as mine—mine to protect, mine to possess. Dax had told me how he’d felt when he’d seen Travis again. He’d been certain Travis belonged to him. I felt the same damn way about Eric, but I… I couldn’t.

Eric pulled back from the kiss and used a hand under my chin to make me look at him. “Ambrose?”

“I want this. I need to fuck you, to know what it’s like to take you, make you come, make you cry out my name.”

“You need that control, don’t you?”

“I… Yes.”

“Then take me.”

Eric unfastened his pants and shoved them down his legs. He wrestled his boots off, then kicked his pants and underwear on top of his t-shirt.

He looked up and caught me staring. “Like what you see?”

I couldn’t take my eyes off his dick, and I had to swallow before I could speak. The sight of his thick cock jutting out, the tip red and wet, stole all the moisture from my mouth. “I… Yeah.”

He chuckled. “Good.”

I forced myself to raise my gaze to his face. He was grinning at me. He liked how tongue-tied I was. I needed to show him I could handle this, that I was in charge, that I could take care of him.

I grabbed his arm and tugged hard, making him stumble. “On the bed.”

“Yes, sir.” His tone was mocking.

“Goddammit, don’t do that.”

Eric fluttered his too-long eyelashes at me. “Do what?”

“Get. On. The. Bed.”

“I thought you wanted me to show you respect.”

“I want to fuck you.”

Eric stopped teasing and crawled onto the bed. He positioned himself on his hands and knees, sticking his ass out. The easygoing sheriff was gone, and in his place was a man who knew exactly what pleased him, a man who was determined to get everything he needed.

I wasn’t really surprised. I’d known from the day we met that his relaxed appearance was a front. There was a hell of a lot more emotion under the surface. My instincts about people were almost never wrong. I’d gotten to see him angry, and now….

He looked over his shoulder and grinned at me.

“Jesus, that should be illegal.” I knelt behind him and took hold of his ass cheeks, kneading them. He groaned, then sucked in his breath when I brushed my fingers along his crack, skimming over his hole.

“I really hope you have some lube.”

“Would you let me do this if I said I didn’t?”

“God help me, maybe.”

I grinned. “You’re in luck, and even if I didn’t have real lube, I’d find something. I want you writhing under me because you’ve never felt anything this good. I don’t want to hurt you.”
