“Charming… I…”

“Take those britches down,” he says. “Now.”

“Fuck,” I reply, not so much at him, but to myself. This is not good, and though I can’t see Luck right now, I have a feeling the embodiment of fortune is not far away. Watching. Waiting for my luck to fail, as it were.

“Emmaline,” he growls my name in dominant fashion. “I warned you about the consequences of disobedience, did I not? I told you what would happen if you were to ever disobey me again.”

“But we are out in the open. Anybody could see.”

“All anybody will see is a naughty princess getting her comeuppance as well she should for reckless behavior that not only jeopardized the fate of a kingdom, but her own dear life.”

He is very unimpressed with me, to say the least. It’s more like anger, I suppose, but not the kind of anger where people scream and shout and call each other names. His is a more productive kind of anger. The kind of anger that is going to sting.

I cannot believe that my hands are indeed going to the waistband of my breeches, and that I am starting to bare myself right here, yes, somewhat off the main path, but not so far side characters on their way to new stories might not see me. I feel terribly embarrassed, my face flushing pink hot as I finally obey with extreme reluctance.

He has always been taller than me, always broader, always stronger, always so many things. He appears to be many multiples of them now as I stand before him with his britches around my knees, feeling very…

“Off,” he says with an impatient flick of his finger. “All the way off. My shirt will suffice for modesty, what little of it you deserve. You can remove Dragonslayer too.”

I do as I am told, stripping myself of my pants and my sword. I do not know which one I feel more naked without. The tail of his shirt does indeed hang down to my mid-thigh, but I am well aware that for what he wants to do, it will not offer protection for long.

He looks around for a place to sit, and as luck would have it, a tree has recently vacated its stump nearby, providing the perfect place for a stern king to punish an arguably deserving princess. I just wish that princess was not me.

Charming crooks his finger at me, and I have to hope that he will show me mercy, though I see none of that in his eye.

“I could have lost you forever,” he says as I step toward him. “Do you understand that? If you had been in the tavern at The End, there would have been no retrieving you. Ever. It would be over. Completely. Do you understand the tragedy and tyranny of that possibility? Do you know what misery I would have suffered? Do you understand what you would have stolen from the Ever After, nay, all creation?”

He speaks with a rough intensity that makes me feel very ashamed. I was not careful enough with myself, and it has caused a great deal of chaos. I may yet cost him everything.

Charming is very gentlemanly and even gentle as he draws me over his big royal alien thigh. I find myself dangling with my head toward the ground, my ass up high over his muscled fulcrum. The shirt abandons me as I knew it would, and I am bared to the world.

“You haven’t answered me,” he says, placing his big scaled palm relatively lightly on my ass.

“I’m sorry,” I whimper. There is nothing else to say.

“You may imagine you are sorry now. I assure you, in very short order you will be much, much sorrier.”

His hand leaves and returns swiftly with enough force to make my bare cheeks flash molten hot. From the very first slap onwards, I become sorrier, and sorrier, until I reach a level of sorriness I did not know I was capable of experiencing.

Charming

Her bottom has always been beautiful, now it glows in the gathering dusk with an ever brighter illumination. I am thrashing her as she deserves, giving her the full benefit of my disciplinary ire.

“I love you,” I lecture. “And I will always come for you, but you could make life a great deal easier for the both of us if I didn’t have to.”

Luck is watching us, though he is staying in the shadows to avoid excess embarrassment to my bride. She is trying her best to be obedient and submit to this punishment, but there is no physical way her body will allow her to simply lie there and be beaten. She kicks and wriggles, squirms and bucks. I could be cruel and tell her to stay still, but what good would that do when I intend to leave her far too sore to sit comfortably for a good long while. Emmaline must learn her importance to me, and to all of the Ever After. She must understand that she can no longer be reckless with herself as she was that first evening I met her, walking alone in the thick, misty dark. She made it easy for me to take her, and I never thought twice about that, considering it destiny. But now Balthazar has done the same and it is obvious this is a habit she has not seen fit to bother changing.
