“You don’t mean that.”

“I do. You’re a stuck-up bitch, Kenna, but I love you, and I don’t want anything bad to happen to you. This dumb shit that you’re doing right now? It’s guaranteed to lead you places you are not ready to go.”

“You mean chained up in a warehouse and tortured by thugs?”

Her blue eyes darken. “Exactly. It’s a kind of hell I wouldn’t wish on anyone, certainly not you.”

Kelsey puts a hand on my shoulder while flashing a sad smile. “You’re not important to the MC, Kenna, so there’s a good chance they’ll kill you right away.”

“Gee, thanks, sis. You know how to make a girl feel loved.”

She let out a bitter laugh. “Unbelievable. You’re upset that you’re not important to a bunch of men you despise? Do me a favor, McKenna, get a life and stay the hell out of mine.”

Kelsey marches out of the house like a woman on a mission, and I can only stare at her, wondering if I’ll ever get my sister back.

Maybe if I hadn’t been so jealous, so judgmental, our relationship would be better today, and then she would listen to me.

Or maybe I’m just a stuck-up judgmental bitch like she said.

Damn, I just want my sister back.

Chapter Four

Ace

“You busy, Ace?” Wilder, AKA Wild Man, stands in the doorway of my office at Angel Harbor Choppers, a wary expression on his face, a laptop in his arms.

I sit back and stare up at the MC’s Secretary, Tech Captain, and all-around resident hacker. His blue eyes, such a stark contrast to his dark brown skin, never miss any details others might deem insignificant. I let out a breath and glance at the spreadsheet one final time.

“Nah, these fucking spreadsheets will be the death of me.”

His full lips kicked into a crooked grin. “Offer still stands to hook you up with some user-friendly accounting software. Hell, I could whip one up specifically for the bike business in a couple of days.”

I groan at the thought of learning more computer shit. It’s not my strong suit, but as club president, I need to know what’s going on. Always. “No, thanks. These cells are more than enough.”

“When you’re ready,” he says, tone non-committal, and takes a step inside the office.

“You have something for me?”

Wild Man nods and drops down in the chair opposite mine with a sigh. “Hector just filed ownership papers for a new warehouse. Remember that old two-story brick building that always smells like fish? That’s the one, and it’s bigger than the one we torched.”

“A fuck of a lot bigger. You think that’s where he’s storing whatever product they have coming in?”

Wild Man nods. “Not at first, but he’s ordered a couple new box trucks under the King Enterprises account and a shitty new security system.”

“Good. Means he’s taking our threats seriously.”

“Exactly. I tapped into the security system, and right now, the building is filled with counterfeit designer handbags.”

“Drugs? Guns?”

“Not yet. I spotted about a dozen boxes they haven’t opened yet, which have piqued my curiosity.”

Mine too. “You think you can get in unnoticed?”

“Hell, yeah.”

“Take Lucky with you,” I tell him. A moment later, Wild Man is on his feet, heading toward the door just as it flies open to reveal Coop and Joaquin looking too fucking serious for noon.

“What the fuck is wrong now?”

Coop rakes a hand through his hair and blows out a deep breath. I can tell just by his demeanor that whatever the news is, it’s bad. “They found a body at the port.”

His words stop Wild Man’s exit, and he listens carefully, always there in case we need his skills.

“A body? Does this body belong to a cop or one of the Iron Kings?”

“Neither,” Coop sighs with a shake of his head. “It’s a woman, and she was floating not even ten feet from the physical dock, Ace.”

“She was in there for at least two days, based on the bloating and bruising.” Joaquin’s words take me by surprise.

Shit. “Bruising?”

Coop nods at him, and Joaquin takes a step forward. “Two black eyes and a split lip, not to mention evidence she’d taken a beating. She was also tortured. Knife cuts all over her body. Her tongue was cut out too.” Joaquin runs a hand through his short black hair as he sucks in a deep breath. “According to the cops, she was sexually assaulted, and the sick bastard who did it left a knife in her cunt.”

“Shit.” That’s no way for anyone to go. “Cop?”

“Doesn’t seem like it,” Coop admits. “Joaquin fished her purse from underneath the dock where she was found.”

“Yeah, a fake ass Louis Vuitton bag she probably got from the Kings.” Joaquin holds up a plastic bag with a familiar black and beige logo. “Phone and ID are inside.”

“You didn’t think to take photos and leave it for the cops?” Wild Man’s dark brows dip in frustration, and he yanks the bag from Joaquin.
