“I’ll go left around the building.”
Shades stops and nods, pulling a cigarette from his pocket and taking his time sliding it between his lips. “I’ll make my way over to those rustling bushes by the ashtray.”
As casually as I can, I look over Shades’ shoulder, and sure as shit, the bushes are fucking rustling.
“This ought to be fun.”
Once I’m out of sight, I jog around three walls of the bistro and come up behind the asshole following us.
I don’t expect to see a finely formed ass encased in denim. I don’t expect long legs and bright red ballet shoes either. But I’m not a man swayed by a tight ass or a pretty face, so I pull my gun and put it to the back of the woman’s head.
“Who the fuck are you, and why the fuck are you following me?”
A tiny gasp escapes as the woman freezes and instinctively raises her hands. “Don’t shoot me, please.”
“That’s not an answer to either of my questions. Get up.”
Her legs shake, but she does as she’s told and turns slowly toward me, slamming big hazel eyes in my direction.
“My name is Kenna, well, actually it’s McKenna, but everyone calls me Kenna.”
“Okay, Kenna, why the fuck are you following me?”
Defiance flares in her eyes, even with my gun aimed straight at her forehead. “Because I’m worried about my sister. Kelsey.”
“You’re Kelsey’s bitchy older sister?” Shades asks the question, his voice full of amusement. “No shit.”
“No shit,” she shoots back, voice all haughty and acting better than the rest of us.
“What does Kelsey have to do with any of this?” Coop’s woman isn’t the typical MC old lady, but she’s smart as hell, and we owe her the protection she gets. “Answer me!”
“Nothing,” she shouts and slams her eyes shut. “I mean, she doesn’t know I’m following you. Look, I’m just trying to save my sister.”
“From?”
“From you and your stupid club! She wouldn’t be a shell of her former self if she had never gotten mixed up with you bastards. I’m trying to save her.”
Shades laughs. “Honey, we’re not holding Kelsey hostage. She’s free to go whenever she wants.”
“She’s not thinking clearly enough to know what she wants or what’s good for her. And I’m not your honey!”
“Wow, high opinion you have of your sister, a future doctor.”
She lets out an unladylike snort that teases a grin out of me. “If that even happens now that she’s in love with a stupid biker.”
Shades and I share a look, and he shakes his head and snort-laughs. “I’m heading back to the clubhouse. See you around, Ace.” He stops and turns back to Kelsey’s sister. “Last I heard, she’s thinking about UCLA for med school, but I’m just a stupid fucking biker, so what do I know?”
His parting words leave McKenna in shock. “What?” She moves to turn, and I shake my head, gun still pointing at her face. “Is that true?”
“How do I know? You’re Kelsey’s sister?”
She growls and rolls her eyes. “Because that would be a dumb thing to lie about.”
“Pretty dumb to follow armed bikers wearing nothing more than ballet slippers. No weapons. No cell phone to call for help. Nothing.”
She sucks in a small breath of air as reality settles around her. “I, uh…crap.”
“Come on.” I give her a shove toward the parking lot.
“Where are we going?”
“Just walk, McKenna.” She has a cute little ass on her, tight and round, firm enough to bounce a quarter off. It’s the perfect ass to grab onto and smack while I plunge into her from behind. Her body’s built for doggy style and those legs? They belong wrapped around a man’s shoulders while he feasts on her sweet cunt. And a rich girl like that? I know it’s sweet like a peach.
Kelsey’s sister is a stunner, and she’s too stuck up to realize she’s a catch, which makes her a little hotter.
“If you’re going to kill me, just do it now.”
I let out a chuckle at her brave words. “Here? In a parking lot in the middle of the morning? That wouldn’t be very smart now, would it?”
Clearly, she doesn’t think very much of Coop or me, or the club, so she probably figures I would off her right here in public.
“I don’t know how your gang operates.”
“Club,” I correct her. “We are a club.”
“Semantics,” she shrugs and stops a few feet from the green sedan.
“Oh, I love it when you use big words on me, college girl.”
McKenna’s chin hitches high in the air. If she was taller, she’d be looking down her nose at me.
“It’s normal for rich college girls to work at pizza places, isn’t it?”
Hazel eyes narrow in my direction. “You know who I am?”
“Not even a little bit, but Kelsey did mention her older sister works at a pizza joint. Just trying to figure out where a minimum wage worker gets to be so high and mighty about my club and where her sister chooses to spend her time.”
