“Fucking oath I do. But that one moment in time where I hurt you, with my very own hands, I knew then that I could not live without you. I knew I had to fight myself to believe it, and now you,” I say, reaching for my phone as it rings again.

This time I answer, and my brother’s voice comes through, not giving her a chance to respond.

“I love you too,” Oriana whispers before she kisses my chest and lays back down on it.

“Sooo…” he draws out the word before continuing, “I may have killed Avani.”

“What?” I bark, confused.

“Or I’m going to kill him,” Avani screams in the background. “He’s trying to fuck my roommate,” she says loudly. “My roommate, Jake. Tell your brother to knock it off, or I’ll end him.”

“Is this a joke? Fuck off,” I growl angrily, and then hang up.

Oriana giggles next to me.

“You shouldn’t buy it,” I tell Oriana as we pull up to an apartment she has been looking at. Keir and Sailor bought her property in the Hamptons, and she is planning to buy her own place.

“Why?”

“Because you already live with me,” I remind her.

She chuckles as she gets out of the car. “That’s only half true. You just never let me go home,” she whines.

Ever since that first night she stayed over, I haven’t been able to sleep without her.

Maybe that’s not healthy.

But I couldn’t care less.

She is now my safe haven.

And for someone who has never had that in their life, it’s truly something incredibly special, and you never want to lose it once you have it firmly in your grasp.

“My home is your home,” I tell her.

“No, this could be my home.” She waves her hand to the open house. “I’m buying it, Jake, but…” she pauses and looks back to me, “I do want to live with you. I’m in a good place now. Everything feels great. I like my job, and I love you.” She nudges me with her shoulder.

“And the sex is great,” I remind her, and she chuckles.

“Yes. Yes, it is,” she agrees.

Six months later

She glances at the ring on her hand, shining it back and forth as we sit in the sun. Her eyes are watering as she looks up at me. How did I manage to fall for the prettiest red head on the planet.

“I didn’t need a ring,” she says. I reach forward and swipe my finger on her chin wiping away the happy tears she’s left there. “Marriage was not the best for me before,” she says as she looks back down at her ring. Then she mutters, “But you are also not him, and the way you look at me….” She gazes up at me and in the next instant she is crawling into my lap, where her hands go around my head and she holds onto me. “It’s how I’ve always imagined a husband to look at a wife, the way you look at me. So all the yes’s in the world would never suffice, on one condition.”

“Name it,” I tell her.

“You never stop looking at me like that,” she whispers.

I reach up and brush her red locks behind her head.

“I loved you before, and I love you now. Nothing would change that.”

“You never know,” she says.

I smile at her words.

“Oh, I know. Trust me.” She blushes as she stays where she is on my lap, not moving.

“Jake.”

“Hmmm.” I lean in and kiss the side of her neck.

“I can feel your hard-on.” I can’t help the smile that touches my lips.

“I can also promise you that will never change, ever.”

“Good.” And then I proceed to show her exactly why the way she turns me on will never change, with my mouth, and my cock. As she screams my name. And what a perfect fucking beginning are we.

From now, to the end of time. She will be mine. And not a thing will ever change that.
